I want to solo some nearby C3s. Don't have WH experience but I hear sleepers web a lot. Therefore speed tanking tengu wouldn't work as good I suppose. Do I need an uber tank? I don't want pithum a-type med shield booster, I may afford C-type though. Also I would like to have a scanner on as well, I may sacrifice a launcher for that if I have to. I can still get around 600 dps without 1 launcher.
I would appreciate the fits from people who actually run anoms, radar/mag sites in C3 solo in a tengu.
regards

I was thinking about a setup like this.. with my skills and hardwirings, I get 868 omni tank and 633 dps... is this overkill (tank wise)?? Can I go for T2 invuls? Then I get 721 omni tank.

Wouldn't Amplification Node be better than Adaptive Shielding for a solo fit?

You should get a 10mn AB. You should be able to tank fine. It'll do you better if you get a good transversal on the battleships after you kill any ships that web you. I did C3 solo in a Legion that had a 500 dps tank. nom nom nom |

Well I want an extra high in order to fit a scan probe launcher... something like this may be? should I worry about alpha damage? May be an extender? my resists are 79.5/90.6/85.9/76.6

Edited by: Culmen on 04/10/2010 15:11:01 Switch out the Cap Recharge Sub-system for a Cap Amount Sub-System. Drop a BCS and add an Additional Heavy Missile Launcher.
You'll do more damage, save on a BCS and still remain cap stable. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

You don't need a whole lot to get it cap stable
Caldari Engineering Systems V is a good start (level 1 skill) Shield Comp IV Afterburners IV Fuel Conservation III
You could have the whole lot in a week if you are starting from zero. and further more why do i even need a sig? |

You don't need a faction invul. I'm doing C3's with mostly T2 mods - just small pith b-type booster and faction SBA

And when you active tank them, they have just as good a tank and better DPS. It could just be that the purpose of your life is to server as a warning to others. |

You can solo C3 anoms in a T2 fitted Tengu, use a Large shield booster. You will have to sacrifice damage though to get cap stable, but you will survive and it will be quicker and safer than a drake. The very fist faction item I would recomend is a pithum b-type medium booster, can then fit BCS's to get damage up and makes running the ca's faster. Add a CN invuln and you good to go for C4 ca's. You would need a mate or alt to salvage. I would sugest putting a cloak and the probe on the salvager.

One of the things that people tend to not mention is that Sleepers love to neut you, so that cap stable active tank? Yeah...not cap stable anymore. So you better make sure your ship can survive some serious punishment before you need to turn on your boosters. If it can't, that 300+mil ship of yours is toast. Plus, a-hole pvpers just love WHs mostly because they can get some pretty nice stuff with very little work at the expense of the hapless pve'er
I'd just stick with a Drake if I were you. Very good passive tank that doesn't have to worry about energy neuts, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper to replace than a Tengu and doesn't look nearly as good on a killboard as one either. Plus, you won't lose skillpoints if you lose your Drake like you would with a Tengu, unless you forgot to update your clone. Very little escapes my notice. If something has, I don't know about it. |

Sleepers in C3 and C4 WH don't Neut, they NOS. When I had my T2 fit I was 32% cap stable, and never had any problems from sleepers. in C3 wh.
As for the a hole pvpers, they are cowards and will only attack when you are done with the sleepers, otherwise they get targeted by the sleeprs. Keep an eye out for probes, so keep scanning set scanner to 360 deg and max range. I have only been hit while I salvage, 5 against 1 salvager is safe for them.

The standard T2 Passive tank is higher than a standard T2 Active tank and is more resistant to Neuts (not totally, as active hardeners are still recommended). Balancing all 4 resists, a T2 Passive is 500 DPS with Scourge Fury and a uniform defence tank of 622 (EM is lowest resist with a 537 DPS tank).
A Faction Active tank is higher than the Passive one, as you can't get Fcation passive mods and the DPS is lower. I posted a cheap fit at first, but managed to miss the OP's willingness to but Fcation mods so deleted it.
I solo C2 WHs in a PvP fitted Active tanked Tengu, which can be mildly amusing as you don't have much buffer. I'm hoping someone will jump me, but it's not happened yet.

I use this fitting. It probably seems slightly odd; however, with a single sub-system swap its ready to roll as an RR Tengu (but thats another story):

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer Tengu Offensive - Accelerated Ejection Bay Tengu Propulsion - Intercalated Nanofibers Tengu Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix
With my skills:
Omni-tank 910 DPS all day long. Deals a reasonable 520 DPS (painter will increase this-v-cruiser/frigs along with Precision heavies). Reasonable price for what you get. Clear 10-15 C3 sites (depending on drops) and its paid for. Combat sites=~12 minutes solo....Mag sites ~15 mins solo. As mentioned can be easily re-configured to a RR Tengu as needed.
While still fairly new to flying the Tengu is does exactly what it says on the tin extremely well.

The benefits of having 4 BCS's over 3 is very small, I have opted for a damage control. Also try 2 x Medium CCC's T2 and one CDOS T1, adds more tank. I don't use an AB and put a TP instead. I have no problems in C3 and C4 sites.
