firstly, ive never played WOW, but i know its had its fair share of problems aswell, i believe 1 problem took 2 years to sort out.

Actually they don't lock a lot threads in order to avoid forum meltdowns over "overmoderation". Most people that mod forums will just let ranting threads go for a bit as to not stir the pot too much.
