Honestly im pretty disspointed with incursion , it seems to me tottaly pointless, add more of the same bigger. Imho it will keep the persons (who actually are interested in pve) interested maybe for around 1 month.
What imho Eve needs despereately is a slow but radical change in its core feature: combat. i bet 90 % of plaeyers are here because of combat. And CCP seems to ba dding more and mroe shiny stuff that has nothing to do with combat.
And in eve combat is a bit to simplistic, and in case of bigger fleets , you die to fast to have fun or think about something tactical, or you lag to much to have fun.
CCP you need to maek combat more interesting if you really want to improve gameplay.Adding in the next incursion a serpents titan or whatever just wont cut it.

No offense Earthan, but PVP'rs always think that 90% are here for the combat. That's not to say that you're wrong per se, but you would be surprised how many of us are just here to mine and craft. You call many of us cowards or carebears, but there are many of us who just enjoy getting together on a Friday night in the belts and mine and just BS each other. We aren't casual gamers either, most of us are online 50+ hours a week mining and building most of that stuff the PVP'rs place on their vessels.
Its not to say that we don't like some combat, but we aren't interested in putting our lives and ships on the line every time we fight, so this invasion will be a fun detraction from mining monotony. PVP'rs and carebears need to face facts that we both need each other in this game. you need us for prey and market contribution and we need you to thin the herds and buy our wares. If there were naught but lions on the plain, the Serengeti would suck.

I never said anywhere that you were cowards or carebears, in fact i used to mine a fair biot in past:), touhg in 0.0. I know many pvpers say such stuff , but imho its silly, its a game and you play it like you like period. For me yes it means pvp combat, but its just as good as minig or trading or whatever for somebody else:).
I was saying tough about making combat more interesting/tacitcal in general , also for pve.I got friend that has joined like 1 month ago , he is purely interested in missions atm , and even he is saying that combat could be more tactical/interesting.

Well, to that I will agree. Hell, that's why I suggested NPC bounty hunters in low sec and larger and tougher rats in high sec. Us high sec people can sit in a belt mining for half an hour or more without anything happening at all and low sec players can sit in a low sec belt with nothing to shoot at for even longer. We both need some more to do.

Edited by: Camios on 04/10/2010 20:25:23 I agree, Icursions and more PVE is not what we need in this game. The whole mission mechanic should be made better instead of adding a new mechanic. There is some problem when people grinds missions without having fun, once you grind them they're too predictable and boring.
I think that players should be able to provide PVE content to other players. What if a PVE activity was done against an NPC hired by another player? That would be PVE and PVP together.
Anyway, PVP in EVE is very good I think. There are some performance problems but they are working on that. We need just more little stuff to kill, in order for small gangs to be effective (this would be a more industry related thing that a combat related thing).
And some combat UI improvements. And maybe, some changes regarding local to create and effective "intelligence warfare" that would deepen the gameplay.
