I'm quite confused by this whole discussion. Indeed, the Scorch lenses shouldn't be nerfed as it's the big power of the Amarrian ships. (Maybe some slight changes might be appropriated, I don't know) But the whole argumentations I've read here appear quite obsolete to me. If we balanced all weapons against each other to make their striking power almost equal, where would be the sense in choosing a race? Amarrs have high fire power and a good armor tank, so? Therefore they are extremely vulnerable through their capacitor. Both, offensive and defensive systems can be heavily interrupted by good neut ships.
Yeah, Minmatars have very high dps through their ACs and an extreme alpha with artillery, are agile and are allrounders. So? Brute force is how that race works, therefore the average defense systems of that race are lower and you need extreme versatile skilling to fly these ships properly.
Reinforcing hybrid weapons? What for? The primary weapon system of Caldaris are the missiles. For the gallente ships? Indeed, hybrid weapons are quite short ranged, so? On close range they manage quite an amount of DPS nonetheless, they have heavy armor tanks and way bigger drone bays then other ships, permitting them to field drones of all kinds, increasing their DPS significantly against all kinds of ships at all distances. Why should they get additional range?
Improving Missiles? Indeed, Caldari ships aren't the best for PVP, so? The Caldari is still the most played race in EVE Online, most of them live in the empire. It's a mission running race.
Why should every race be able to do everything?? Every race has its strengths and weaknesses. It's up to the players to find the one suiting best and it's up to the players to find out the weaknesses of the enemy. I don't want to play an EVE Online in which omni potent races exist. The game lives from the differences and problems on the field. Indeed, most ships fielded in big fights are Amarr, who cares? In small scale PVP it's the Minmatars and Gallente, with a growing Caldari part, especially in empire wars. Those Caldaris who really want to take part in big fleet fights, will know how to emphasize the benefits of their ships and find appropriate fittings.
