The Cove exposes the slaughter of more than 20,000 dolphins and porpoises off the coast of Japan every year, and how their meat, containing toxic levels of mercury, is sold as food in Japan and other parts of Asia, often labeled as whale meat. The majority of the world is not aware this is happening.

If the meat is toxic then the problem will solve its self.

it's sad that we can't even save a few dolphins nevermind the rest of the problems everywhere. If we fail at this how can we ever hope to help anyone else in the world. It's a worthy cause and we need your help. Make a difference and do something useful in your life just once, then you can go back to pew pew pew.

Have you ever seen how cows are transported or how pigs bleed to death? How chickens live and then get ther head chopped off? And I'm talking about industrial breeding and processing... not the cute Old MacDonalds farm.
So, please ... some dolphins with stomach problems in a country far far away?
I once told a Greenpeace guy on the street, my car uses 24 liter diesel, if he really thinks I give a rat's ass about environment :-) I meant it as joke, but he got really pale and all :(

You will not solve the worlds problems all at once. Lets start with something small... like a cove. You think it's impossible, how difficult is it to sign a petition online?
Don't be lazy and give me crap about the slaughter of animals and other crap do something about it even if it's small.

The good news is that these guys used covert ops style tactics to document the footage, they even got ILM to manufacture props to hide the cameras to get this illegal footage, the effort was right out of some ocean's 11 script.

TBH things like this don't mean poop as the country that does then doesn't see the problem that we do, its spending money changing attiudes in japan what will do something (look at whaling, they see them as just big fish)

it's not an American problem it's a humanitarian problem, it just happens that Americans had the technology to break into this highly restricted facility when no one else could.
Without our help it's going to continue until Japanese become sick from mercury. By that time it will be too late.

People are the problem tbh, too many people, but certain groups of people think its their 'god' given right to despoil the land they have and destroy nature because of some silly intepretation of a book written in times past.
Theres also way way way too much in the way of cultures that won't see this at all (e.g. Japan with whaling, African bushmeat, Chinese medicines, American focus on taming the wild and hunting, British fox hunting (I'm sure there are some european ones as well, but the ones I've heard of before no longer happen I believe - Spanish chimpanze photography, bear baiting in turkey - tell me if I'm wrong).
All this cruelty and lack of empathy with animals just shows what the kind of people we are overall.

The Cove is a very good film. Mrs. Zap watched it a few months ago and from being a rabid consumer of sushi, is now fully into chickpeas, mushrooms and the like. Got me at it too (sweet potato rolls were always my favourite anyway), although it's hard to resist the odd lamb shish after a couple of pints of Hoe'.
