Planetary Interaction - A boring, shallow mini game that is just a click-sink. Clicking thousands of times per planet does not interest me.
Incarna - A boring, second life clone that according to CCP has no plans of adding combat. Wouldn't it be nice to dock and kill the noob hiding in that station waiting for you to leave local chat? -- Too bad walking around is for roleplaying only!
What's next? This doesn't seem like the "Ultimate sci-fi simulator" to me, more like a dying spaceship game with a good marketing department.

I love it when people preemptively complain about something that won't be released for almost another year.

Or, a radical change to the player-driven economy forcing players to produce/sell items previously seeded - LIKE MAGIC - to say nothing of being the underlying framework of their console-tie in FPS.
Originally by: RenoIdo aha, but I don't want to play Dust, I think it will suck and I hate everything, especially how my hair looked when I woke up today
valid point, obviously

Yup, roleplaying only. As it's still ~a year away, let's all make wild speculations about how useless/awful it will be, and let's hope people think we're right!

So, what would YOU like to see that would make this the ultimate sci-fi simulator, given that on top of the sci-sandbox and spaceship game we already have, they are giving us ground combat, avatars, a 'social area' (which if you think is about role-player and not about adding depth to the game, you're a straight up retard), and - if we believe their claims about iteration - control of the population/production of planets?
Chop, chop, we are all dying to hear your ideas.

Eurogamer: Presumably that goal will mean avatar versus avatar combat at some point. How's that going to work?
Torfi Frans Olafsson: It will never become an FPS. DUST 514 is the FPS in the EVE world. We're not planning to run down corridors with plasma rifles in non-fibre armour.
EVE is a more strategic, slow-paced game than Team Fortress 2, and it will always be that way. But that does not mean there will be no conflict or combat. It just means we are not aiming towards doing an FPS within EVE itself.

Apparently, it's in some dev blog or interview. You can't hit them all!
Anyway I wonder how WiS does NOT add to the fullness of a sci-fi simulator compared to no WiS at all?! You may not like it (like I don't like for example mining), that doesn't mean it isn't part of what's envisaged.

So, you haven't heard of Dust514?
Oh wait, wait, let me beat you to it - but Dust isn't on my pc, waaaaaa, i don't want to get a console to play it, waaaaa, i hate fps on consoles, waaaaa.
None of this changes the fact that there will soon be ground combat in the EvE universe - which is all part of the 'ultimate sci-fi simulator' goal.
So, you don't actually have any suggestions, right? You just want to stamp your feet and cry a little?
Feel any better? .

They have been saying it for as long as I can remember (so, 5+ years) but seen here most recently .

PI is not done yet. They want to implement DUST before they add in the combat side of PI.
The first iteration of Incarna sounds boring to you, but it _could_ lead to you being able to shiv a noob. Though what you would get out of it I dunno. Certainly no profit, unless there were a bounty involved. And of course, you'd have to deal with station security, which I'd bet my left nut would be worse than empire space security.
What is it _you_ want? As far as im concerned, aside from lag issues, the space part of EVE is COMPLETE. Nothing much more to do but tweeks to already existing gameplay.
