Hey all,
First of all thanks in advance, these forums are really helpful reading through.
Im a noob. Ive been playing the game for a month by now, and hands down, best ive ever played. However im in a bit of a struggle atm.
I started with one account and quickly expanded from there as I thought to myself I wanted to cover a few areas in the game and only being able to train one character in one "direction" at a time annoyed me. So I went for: one account for pvp training, one for making money to sponsor the pvp activities (industry minung) and one PVE account to help out with the isk and I also enjoy doing PVE. However its not working out as I should. PVP/PVE almost goes hand in hand on one character. And I started my gallante character to train a retriever however quickly got bored of mining and definitly not going back to that, so I bascially have 2 accounts that I dont know what to train on. The pvp account (minmatar) is doing fine and Ill leave that as it is. So down to 2 accounts. Im going to train my gallante character to PVE I guess or not? dont know, I just love using drones. But dont know. Im asking on the forums as I have very little knowlegde about the universe and what "paths/directions" to train my characters in. It might be debateable if investing in 3 accounts as being the noob I am was a reasonable idea, however what done is done:)
Quick round up.
Account one: PVP (minmatar) Good as it is Account two: ??? Account three: ??? (perhaps something I could make money on, like trading, industry etc?)
Thank you for your input. - Please ignore any spelling mistakes etc as im very tired atm:/
Cheers

Industry takes a while to spin up into a money maker and has a relatively high price tag to get started. I would advise you to train your alts for something productive in other ways first, perhaps PI, mission running, trading, exploring, etc. PI and trading are probably the least skill intensive, but mission running will be the biggest immidiate income source (unless you're a very adept marketeer).

For me, it's that : 1 - Main : pvp. All races sub cap. 2 - Pve @empire + carrier/logi alt 3 - scout alt (t3 unprobable with warfare link + probe launcher), I dunno what I will do after that tho.

I've split mine this way 1. research/industry/trade (which can also fight if needed) 2. support/logistics/leadership/trade (basically my orca pilot) 3. Combat (Pve/PvP - he also runs the missions to pay for my plex once hes finished training some basic skills)
P.S dont start the account until you know the general direction of your character and make sure you start it with the trial invite from one of your accouts for free 30 days game time ------------------------------

You have been playing less than 30 days and you got 3 toons on the go?? lol
Tbh if you concentrated on 1 you would proberly make more isk :) If you wana do industy then start mineing and build from there.. If you wana do pvp then do pvp/pve with the one toon..
Get one of your accounts doing something well before you have 3 doing things badly..

Short of spending any more euro on bolstering your wallet(s) i'd suggest you find a feasible means of getting the three to work together before you go send them off in diffirent directions. Unless of course, you fancy paying for three accounts by sub for a while.
I'd suggest something like training one to scan, one to run combat sites, and one to trade the loot you haul. Eventually the scanner becomes a scout/logistic pilot, the site runner is your mission/pvp character, and the trader can do whatever ya please. Using a setup like that you'd be self-sufficient in a hurry (assuming you had the time and inclination to really hit the ground running with highsec exploration).

I have: 1-WH Char, also able to do missions for isk (Caldari missile chucker/gasser/scanner/basic mining and PI skills). Also a PI alt char on this account. 2-My original missioner(Domi/drones) now training into PvP. Also a freighter/transport/gasser on the account. 3-PvP (Minmatar) and 2 R&D alts.
My setup is hardly ideal but it suits my needs and that's what you should focus on. If you want to go hit 0.0 PvP then train whatever you need to make that easier. Maybe a scout and a hauler/trader eventually turning industrialist/JF pilot. There's no right answer here. I wouldn't recommend training 3 totally different directions. You're probably going to want to have your accounts working together to create a synergy. Personally I have a WH group of characters and a non-WH group and play whichever has better action day to day.

This is how I did it as I was in a similar situation many years ago
1. PVP - Subcapitals (at first Minmatar now all races) 2. PVP - Capitals (Gallente caps/subcaps and Amarr subcaps) 3. PVE/Industry - ISK maker

Since you know you're going to have a PVE toon you can always train the third into a hurricane for salvaging and train some leadership on it to run a gang link for your main's tank. fleet them up while you mission and just afk the salvage toon until you clear a room and bring in the salvager one room behind your main.
After you're satisfied with the performance of the salvage toon you can just start training industry skills. This way your PVE and your indy toon both provide income and the indy toon can basically afk in mission fleets outside of the mission area and still benefit the group. If you're splitting mission standing with your alt then you'll eventually have the ability to use high level agents on 2 toons instead of one which increases your income potential as well.

With (just) 3 toons, personally I'd look at going something like:
Toon #1 Primary - PvE/PvP Secondary - PvP/PvE (i.e. train lots of combat & core skills) Tertiary (down the road a bit) - PI and Research (for R&D agents/datacores)
Toon #2 Primary - Miner/Refiner/Re-processor Secondary - Hauler/Salvager Tertiary - Builder/ (plus PI and Research)
Toon #3 Primary - Researcher/Inventor Secondary - Miner/Builder Tertiary - Hauler/Salvager (plus PI and Research)
This is kind of how I started out. My PvP-Fu (and general knowledge of the game) sucked in the beginning and I drifted into carebear activities. Didn't want to take away from my PvE training, so I started the 2nd toon to do mining as a source of income. Then I realized it would (often) be cheaper, easier and more convenient if I were to build my own stuff (like ammo for starters), but didn't want to switch training plans for the other two 'toons, so I started a third.
After a while I found I was doing a lot of "cross training" any ways, and now have a bunch of toons that can mine/haul/research/salvage/PI/etc.
But the possibilities are (almost) endless. If you are more into PvP, your 2nd/3rd 'toons could become support for your main toon (cloaky scouts, scanner/hacker/analyzers and cyno alts perhaps ?) Too much depends on what you want to do in the game. Yes, mining/PI can be (are) tedious but can help fund your in game activities without having to buy and sell PLEXs all the time. Same with trading/manufacturing. If nothing else, I'd say train the other two toons to do PI and Research (for R&D agents/datacores), then train them for your "PvP" support. That way they can make some passive income fairly easily while you are concentrating on your main toon.
Or not.
