I also have this problem. Is there a way to bypass the launcher? |

Found it - ExeFile.exe in the "bin" directory. No idea if this is a safe way of starting the client but it seems to work OK for me so far. |

If you're using SiSi Launcher, do the following: 0. Close out all EVE Clients, TQ and SiSi (required for fixing the launcher)
Raze Zindonas wrote: 1. Goto your folder where your SiSi install is 2. Hold Shift and right click the SiSi folder 3. Pick Open Command Window Here 4. then type in the command: eve.exe /forcelauncher /forceupdate
5. Delete SiSi Launcher (no longer supported and causes the Play button to be in the top right hand corner) 6. Create Shortcut to the EVE Launcher in your Singularity Folder 7. Use newly created shortcut to Patch/Run SiSi CCP RedDawn: Ugly people are just playing life on HARD mode. Personally, I'm playing on an INFERNO difficulty...

ok... I had the launcher bug starting from a few weeks back, found the thread Affinity linked above and followed it, and all was well with the world at least until last Tuesday which was the last time I used it.
this morning, I mistakenly launched the old sisi launcher, kicked myself when i saw the broken launcher, closed it, and ran the amended sisi shortcut.
My sisi client promptly went through the motions and updated itself and eventually gave me a launcher... trying to connect to TQ... "maybe it's just a display bug", but no, hitting play i connected to TQ.
"it's early, maybe I ran the wrong thing... ?" but no, on checking the file locations and properties of the amended link it's sat happily in the C:\Program Files\CCP\Singularity\ folder.
ok, sisi seems to be acting up, i'll just boot up the normal client... so I run the "play" shortcut to get onto TQ thats been in the start menu for a long long time...
normal launcher runs, hit play, login screen... but it's trying to start in full screen "uh oh... i run in fixed window... this isn't good" and the intro movie starts...
and lo and behold... my TQ version is a new shiny settings-less variant. I assume a complete settings reset happens when you do a forced update, but I did a forced update on the SISI version!!!
to be absolutely clear, the shortcuts used here are:
target "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\SisiLauncher.exe" start in "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE" (doh, wrong short cut)
"C:\Program Files\CCP\Singularity\eve.exe" /forceupdate /forcelauncher "C:\Program Files\CCP\Singularity" (WTF sisi goes onto TQ)
and
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE" (oh ffs, settings reset)
...
and i still can't get onto sisi, since the old launcher is broken and the new route takes me onto TQ! Curiosity killed the Kata...
... but being immortal he wasn't too worried about keeping a count. |

You need to add /server:Singularity to your shortcut, as Singularity is running a release candidate now, which defaults to TQ. Unfortunately it seems like combining /server:Singularity with /forceupdate is not working. Best workaround seems to be to start the launcher once with forceupdate to revert to the correct launcher version and close the launcher as soon as it starts with the correct version (best to close it before it starts downloading the EVE patch). Then run the regular shortcut with the /server option: "C:\Program Files\CCP\Singularity\eve.exe" /server:Singularity CCP Habakuk | EVE Quality Assurance | Team Gridlock Writing bug reports | Mass tests

I have always used
eve.eve" /server:87.237.38.50
If you use "Singularity" some times you have issues . |

curious... /server:87.237.38.50 didn't work, /server:Singularity did work...
still a little confused as to how an update in the "singularity" folder affected my install in the "eve" folder
anyway, onto sisi! Curiosity killed the Kata...
