So im finally in a hound and i've been wanting to be a stealth bomber for a while, but other than fleet harassment, what do SB's do?
Is it usual to get with a few other SB's and just roam for KM or do they do well in larger fleet roams.
So far from personal experience i've only ever seen enemy SB's pop in to shoot at us while were doing fleet ops.

that is exactly the nature of a stealth bomber and to be quiet honest the only really fun way. To solo with a SB is tough, if your target is not an industrial an but can shoot back

Stealth bomber... can solo but it's very hard. Your best bet is to pair up with a covops or a recon ship.
A pair of SB and a covops for tackle is actually really effective, they can take on solo BS or BC easily and with the covops you can scan people down too, or fit for an actually decent tackle. Buzzard has enough midslots to throw together a half-decent shield tank and tackle but you'll probably get more mileage out of the other races.

well no worries. Thats sorta what i expected i just wanted to ask in case i missed somthing.
Also would it be better to equip the targetting range booster or the stealth lockon module you think?

Depends if you're planning to not tackle but be at range, or to be fast at getting a volley off before cloaking/warping, or something else which would probably lead to a TD, TP, SD or ECM. |

atm i was gunning for micro, TP, and Sensor/stealth lock for my mids.
Since im using a TP i should probably go with the sensor booster, but this makes me run out of cap pretty fast.
Kind of a delima.....
On a side note, I also have assault ships going into training. They seem a bit more skill intensive with all the gunnery skills i need to cap out. Are these also really only useful for tackle's in gang's. I fly minnie ships predominately but have some gallante skill as well.

If I may?
Don't bother using a Sensor Booster. Stealth Bombers already have high targeting speed and range and the ships that you should be going up against (i.e. large ships) will generally lock in under 3 seconds. Similar logic applies for the Passive (Stealth) Targeter. As soon as you use an aggressive module or weapon the target will see your ship with a red box around it. And unless you are daft, you won't be decloaking against anything you are not prepared to engage immediately.
Instead, stick to using Target Painters as torpedo damage is generally linked with the "size" of the target's signature radius (the larger it is, the more damage torps deal). If you want to spice things up a bit you might want to consider throwing on a Sensor Damp for engagements that put you beyond 45km from the target (note: you need T2 torps to actually hit targets out beyond 45-50km in a Stealth Bomber). If you think you might be engaging a target at close range (NOT recommended) then you could slap on a Tracking Disruptor to prevent turreted ships from hitting you easily. If you are uncomfortable flying a ship with no tank you could throw on a Shield Extender to give you more EHP (note: doing this increases your sig radius a bit and makes YOU easier to hit).
Other advice with Stealth Bombers?
- Stealth Bombers truly shine when in a gang of similarly capable ships (i.e. other cloaky ships) - Stealth Bombers excel at hurting big, slow moving ships (i.e. battlecruisers and above) - Stealth Bombers are VERY vulnerable against small, fast moving ships due to their inability to significantly hurt such ships as well as barely having a tank (think of it as the trade off for using a Cov-Ops cloak... you can pick your battles but you REALLY need to pick them) - Sniper ships are things that a Stealth Bomber should avoid except at close range (one of the few exceptions to a Stealth Bomber's usual tactics)
Now... as far as Assault Frigs are concerned... they both are and are not specialty ships. In terms of general combat, they can do exactly what normal frigates do. But they can also do a bit more than normal frigates as they have higher native resistances and tanking ability as well as better DPS capabilities. _______________________
