My problem with scams, escrow scams particularly, is this: escrow can only show so many entries, so each scam takes away a spot from a legitimate sale.
I don't really have a problem with jerks scamming, even though fraud like the type they perpetrate in Eve is a felony in my country. My problem is that I can't find what's legitimately being sold because scams are taking up all the space on escrow.
The new Market helps this a bit, but I figured I'd put that out there.

Yeah I never really cared for the escrow scams, I know CCP doesn't want to limit them due to freedom ingame. But the spam needs to stop.

Agreed it does need to stop. Its not hard for CCp to spot who it is and warn them as you can see there name over and over again.
Escrow is a good thing to have as the legitimate sellers can sell packages on there instead of single sales on the market.
But we all know it wont stop anyways

Oh it would if you only let the highest skill point character on an account create "all" escrows. The same should be done for the forums.

That would be oh so cool, you should be able to ask agents to reveal 'associates' of a characters (i.e the other chars on that account) which would stop a lot of this stuff going on.
Hell i would pay a mill a pop to find out who some alt's mains are.
Starsi dont make Eve Pilots, but if they did, i wouldnt be one of them. |

I havent thought about it! That would definatley make an escrow scam more uncomfortable - if you woul dhave to run a whole separate account devoted to scams.

Oh yes, the ppl who do get escrow scammed need to learn to inspect (I did once buy some bloodclaw missiles for 19K each, oh how I felt so noobish)

Let's try to stay on topic, Mr Armored Assassin. Though scams in general do annoy me and I do not appreciate fraud, that's not what the post is about. It's about scams taking up space that crowd out honest business.

That's my problem with scams, there is Zero risk involved. IRL, if you try to run a scam, con or whatever, you're likely to begin to attract the attention of whatever local law enforcement deals with such crimes. In Eve, you face no such retribution.

There should be a means for regular law-abiding EVE citizens to register scammers as criminals, which will flag them as such for bounty hunters and the like to punish them appropriately. I feel that CCP should certainly institute some form of player-based justice, rather than allow scamming with impunity.
On a side note, placing a bounty on someone just isn't enough. That doesn't permit you to hunt them down and actually kill them. People with high enough bounties can hide behind the protection of NPC law to avoid actual justice, which grants them immunity from any real harm.

I'd love to see the ability to put people on your block list and have Escrows from them not appear.
That is the only change that I feel is needed. If you get scammed, next time you shouldnt be such an idiot.

And neither have I. But I swear every time I open escrow there are more "great" BS deals (come on you tards we know a Raven for 90 mil is a scam with out looking), and people using escrow as a bloody message board (use the market forum FFS).
And its the same on these forums, with morons using there alts to post some troll (I wonder if they ever get told off by ISD for doing that?). Im not saying CCP should stop people doing this stuff, but they should have to do it with the highest SP character.
