Does not work on gate (zero speed), but does wonders on stations where you get puked out with speed.

Interesting.
Wouldn't surprise me at all if this is correct, no matter what conventional wisdom says.
Facts found on forums are often wrong. May apply to this thread as well.

Indeed. Especially that very last part.
I intend to test it myself tonight. Not expecting to find anything significant, though.

Originally by: Cambarus To be fair you have to factor in that CCP often has no idea wtf they're talking about, even when it comes to their own game. Most egregious example I can think of being the statement that sensor strength does not affect jamming chance from NPCs, when this has been proven via extensive testing to be false.
Not arguing with your assertion that CCP are often wrong about their own game, but where's this jamming strength test?

As for this whole passive align thing, give me a few minutes to test it with some alts and a fleet warp. That video that got posted earlier has such a small difference in align times it could easily have been simple poor timing/lag. |

The eve server doesn't think about which way you're aligned. This is done by the graphics engine.
That's why when you're orbiting in an interceptor, you always turn tighter than your ship appears to. This is also why ships come out of warp sideways. Ever noticed that it's mostly battleships and higher than come out of warp sideways? This is because all ships have a value for how agile they are, and the large ones appear on grid at the default alignment, then slowly turn to the way they're warping in.
If you're dead 0m/s, it doesn't matter. ------

You won't, I already tested it repeatedly months ago when people in ER chat insisted I and the dev that explained align mechanics were wrong. I used a hulk and got pretty much the same result every time.
