I haven't played eve for a couple of years, I some what forgot how things worked. What was useful when and where and things I should not do or not even try to do...
Anyway, I got my self a Hurricane and some what recall auto-cannons where a lot of fun and quite lethal onces in weapon range.
Now I just found out MWD don't work in deadspace, so closing the distance quickly is some what out of the picture.
Are auto-cannons still suitable for deadspace (agent missions) or should I go with long range weapons instead (not really my style, but still)
Any advice is welcome.

You could try an Afterburner instead of the MWD. At least for now. There are indications that they may be going to allow MWD to work in Deadspace in the Autumn patch.
'Canes are lovely ships. They can whistle through L3 missions. I can't see them doing very well in most L4s though.
ACs are short ranged and higher DPS, but you're going to be sucking up the damage in a BC, so your Tank has to cut it. Arty lets you stand off at ranges that most rats can only effectively engage you with their missiles, so you can use fewer slots on Tank and add some Gank. If you can keep the angular velocity down (get them tailing you; with an AB you're still faster than almost any L3 rat that can do morre than tickle you), you'll instapop all the frigates and won't take long with the cruisers. Only problem is if the Acceleration Gate dumps you into the middle of a furball, at which point whack on the AB, run for your life, pop some mid-range targets while you're running and then apply rule one.
Depends on your SP, but you could have a hard time fitting a 'Cane to easily run all L3s with ACs, 'less you got a lot of SP before you jacked it in.

Edited by: Lu Hsun on 12/10/2010 23:49:30 With a handful of exceptions I'd say artillery works better for missions.
With an AB you can kite out the rats to a point where an afterburning Maelstrom can hit a destroyer, literally. You'll be able to stay out of range and still put damage on target. Or insta pop things from far away.
Still it's quite possible to do either with the 'cane, I'd just recommend the arty fit more.

They work in SOME deadspaces... they've been tinkering a bit in the past few months. _
