If I cloak a ship, does it stay cloaked if I log off? Also can probes pick up cloaked ships? Maybe this is a solution."
I have had the same experience. I have logged back on to find myself back in hi-sec with my Ibis starting frigate. Going back to my log off site (a safe spot for 3 AU in all directions) I find my ships secure container floating in the place I logged off. It seems to me that your ship remains in W space when you log off.
I'd say it doesn't happen every time, but there is nothing in the rules about it.

Thanks Terminal,
I scanned for ships and found none. So the only other option is covert ops players shadowing me. Prior to my logging out I was sitting stationary at my stash for 5 mins sorting out my loot. So any PvP player would have had plenty of time to scan me down and attack me then, and loot my containers as most were not password locked; but they didn't.
According to the help files on logging off, they were able to scan me down in the one minute during log off, at the safe spot I just warped to. Not only that but they choose the exact moment I decided to log off to attack me of the hours I had been playing in the system. That's incredible coincidence. Also, I didn't warp out 100k km or so as it says you do during log out. All this suggest to me the players attacking me are either freakishly lucky to have attacked me in the 10-15 seconds left before my ship disappeared (they have to scan me down and warp to me in the 1 minute), or my ship remained after log out for longer than the 1 minute specified.

I got killed 4 hours after I logged off says the combat log
How did I log off?
I pressed esc then clicked log off and watched the screen refresh to the loggin and password screen.
So it didn't log me off in w space

If you were busy they could have scanned you down, got on grid and added you as a contact to know when you went offline. They could at least have dropped combats far away and been sure of your ship's id to then scan in that minute/15mins when they suddenly notice you go offline. But 4 hours later? Petition it. |

Firstly, check you can work out time conversions to make sure you have correctly worked out the time in relation to your time.
If you were still killed 4 hours after you logged petition it, as it's either a bug or someone else is playing your account while you sleep!
You will normally be removed from space shortly after you log, about 60 second I think - slightly longer if you have an agression timer, about 15 minutes I think. And I blieve thats the window of opportunity anyone has to kill you after you log in space.

I've written a petition as I logged off at 2am CCP time(GMT-1) and was attacked and podded around 4am - 5am CCP time.

Last night a corpmate logged off and 3-5 hours later his Raven was still floating around inside the POS shields - I even sent him a text to check he was actually offline and my friends list wasn't bugged. Not sure if this is a new bug, or what, but this could lead to LOTS of tears... |~~~~~~~| |~~~~~~~| |~~~~~~~~| |~~~~~~~~| |~~~~~~~|

I find that if you bump ships that are logged off yet dont warp away they disappear instantly.

"Instantly" or after two minutes?
I'm very curious about what happens to ships with covert ops cloaks. If you log off cloaked, does your ship do the emergency warp and 2-15 minute timeout still cloaked?

We had an issue where a corpie was logging off in his HAC yet wasnt warping away he was still in the POS bubble A LONG time after disconnecting, im talking hours...
Yet when I bumped his ship he simply vanished.
As for Cov Op my opinion on this is if you log off cloaked you do not stay cloaked but warp away like any other ship in space.
When logging off in WH space you do indeed warp away after 60 seconds. We have tried and tested this many times.

Confirming there is a bug, that keeps a player in space, long after he has logged off.

You decloak and warp away the usual 1M km, then disappears as usual.
If you log off inside a POS bubble, you don't warp away, but disappears after 2-15 min. Then when you log on again you'll be in warp towards the POS from a random safespot 1M km away.
Never heard of a bug, but if the GM's can verify you were offline and had been offline hours before you got podded I'm sure you'll get reimbursed.

There was a bug that I thought was fixed about a month ago.
If you logged out of eve, the client would crash. This would cause the pilot to actually remain ingame until you end tasked on the crashed instance of eve via "ctrl+alt+delete" task menu.
This may be a variation of the same bug that now occurs without the eve client crashing.
I noticed it because I would log out one of my accounts and the client would crash, I assumed it didnt matter since I was logging out anyway. However my second client would still see my first client in space as long as I didn't end task on the crashed client.

This, tried this several times today with my alt watching, and never warped, just stayed put in space, i thought they fixed this as well, but eve wasn't showing in the task menu. Also confirming the bump and disappear trick, but if you shoot said ship you can destroy it.
Just want to mention that i wasn't in W-space when i tried this, it was in low sec.

Yes, and this bug is one of those definitely going from "some months old" to "long time known bug" without anything being done. - Auditing & consulting
