so Dust gonna use unreal 3 engine huh? its really good engine. but after see the 'destruction 2 engine' (bad company 2) unreal engine is not much attractive. interactive and destructible environment makes game play really so much more fun.
of course Dust514 got a lot of unique feature and cant wait to start playing. but just wish to see it with interactive env.

Source on Dust using Unreal engine? Also, the licensing may be complicated or simply non-existent for the BFBC2 engine.

I think the only thing that could possibly prevent me from buying Dust would be using the same engine as BF:BC2. The engine ruined that game.

I say this as someone who uses games engines for a living: Never ever judge an engine based on a game.
Playing a game, and then calming any engine is "is not much attractive" is silly.
It's an Engine. That's it. What you use it for is an entirely different thing.
Oh, and UE3 can handle 'interactive and destructible environments' with ease. Seriously, with it's eyes closed. It was designed with that kinda ability from day one. Hell, the Unreal 2 engine could so it with ease.
Sure UE3 has it's issues (show me an engine that doesn't), but in terms of what's out there, it's so versatile, fast, cross platform, stable and has great support. It really is one of the best out there.

One of the dev presentations/panels at fanfest 2k9 ù can't be arsed to skim through 2½ hours of video to find it though.
Check it out on YouTube. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Whaaat? I personally think its ****ing awesome! And so obviously do the hundreds of thousands if not millions of players who play BC2 everyday!
Sure its not perfect, but its bloody good and innovative.

I also dislike the Frostbite engine for one main reason. The destructability is flawed in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, it's still good but not what it was made out to be.
It seems as if every building is a cube where each side has six squares. Each square can be individually broken, but you can no break half of each, creating a hole that is made up of two squares. It's kind of hard to explain.
