If I'm going to be mining / PI with extractors mining different resources from the same planet, it's likely the extractors will be far-apart on the planet's surface(due to the spread of resources). Is there a way to calculate / estimate in advance what size CC I will need to support the required links? Thanks.

Always use the biggest CC your skills allow, and just deploy more extractors until you run out of power. --- Some days you are the pigeon, and some the statue. |

size of cc will not matter with incursion as there is now only one cc for each planet that can be upgraded as and when you need it The only problem with Common Sense is it is not that common anymore |

+1
FWIW, if your link costs more than 700 power, you're better off tossing down another launchpad rather than doing a long link. Unless you want the link to allow for automated moving. Whatever floats your boat.

This!
If you don't use the extra power for more extractors or processors you could use it for more storage so that you don't need to pickup from the planet as often. There is always a use for the extra fitting room, and the cost difference is minimal.

@Jokiller Solarius So, with Incursion, will my current CC's be redundant or at least hopelessly out of date?

Edited by: Maulcra on 21/10/2010 16:10:38 Use Starstriker's calculator and add the "Plan additional link cost" option for your long links.
