Given how illogical it is when there's so many other useful skills you have to have right now then yes, possibly.
11 Learning skills 5,376,000 pts.
Only problem is now I have to think again about what to train next.

Oh yeah, 11 more days for me. As long as Eve is a game where I dont need to play to grow my character, and the only MMO to have a real player driven economy, I'll continue to play eve for years.
Taken from the May 29th 2003 Devchat at EveGate . <Muaddid> Q: When will sentry gun and station and similar construction pods be introduced on the market? <Hellmar> we have various player owned entities already implemented. Sentry guns, power/shield generators, field repair mini-stations, mobile refineries. We are still working out the last tidbits of how they can be over taken, what is the penalty of having a sentry gun kill a n00b etc. and we have been a bit busy with plugging the holes that people have found.I would say that you'd start to see these items on the market in about 2-3 weeks, very expensive to begin with |

Yeah, I uh.. almost stopped at Lvl IV on the advanced learning skills too.
It's just so tempting when your highest stat is perception and your charisma is higher than half of the others. I think they're worth it even if you don't have any concrete plans for playing more than a certain number of months. Of course I calculate this by the personalized math of minutes that seem to take forever and days that slip by without notice.

I decided that more than 1000 days was too long term, especially with the increased clone cost with many skills, so I decided to just stop at lvl 4 on the advanced ones.
It remains a mystery how I was able to afford the advanced ones in the first place though

Anyone that plans on playing this game for more than the free trial should train learning and base learning skills to lvl 5 along with the advanced memory and intelligence skill. Advanced perception, charisma and willpower don't really benefit you above lvl 4 unless you plan on training all weapons and ship skills to the higher levels as 90% of the skills need memory and intelligence.
The few days it takes to train these skills is more than made up for in the time you save training the rest of the skills later. Like turning 45 days for Gallente Indy lvl 5 into 30 days and so on.
The ever expanding number of skills available means you need every boost you can get to your attributes in order to maximize your character, meaning at least aquiring +3 implants. Anyone that says training advanced learning skills to lvl 4-5 is a waste of training time due to other skills out there is seriously mistaken and backwards on their understanding of how training actually works.

Look at it this way, you're all set for when "UberAdvancedLearningSkills" get released onto the market requiring lvl 5 of the advanced ones.
Me, I stopped at level 4, but I may train the perception and intel ones up to lvl 5 as my base stats are a bit low on those. We'll see...

i have two of the advanced learning skills trained to 5, and kinda just use the other three as temporary filler when i can't decide on what to train right after something finishes, and i just need something going, or if i get up in the middle of the night to get the next skill started and can't remember what i wanted to train.
eventually, i'll be a smartass, too.

Is it really worth training Learning 5?

I dont think it is. It takes like some 300 days for the investment to recoup itself. Id stop at level 4 today, and not bother by level 5. Mayhaps one day "advanced Learning" shows up and its demanded. Untill then. No.

Ditto.

Yes, it is. Put it this way, at lvl 5 if u have a "natural" 20 in perception, that will give you and extra 2 points, to make it 22. It's like a free, no cost, no risk implant for the sake of a weeks training.

Got to disagree here. Remember that as well as giving you 2% quicker training on all other skills, it multiplies your attributes by 1.10 (at level 5). For a newbie, I'd say concentrate on getting your attributes up as high as possible as quickly as possible is paramount, as n00bs have a lot of catching up to do to even stand a chance out there in the big bad world of EVE. They can do that a lot quicker if the attribute and particularly the Learning skill is at level 5.
