I have an alt that i trained up to create alliances...
I'd like to get his standing up with different factions so the corps he creates can anchor POS's in high sec.
how long does it take to grind up faction standings high enough to place POS's?
And is it possible to do so by piggybacking with mission runners ?
Because my alt can fly a noob frigate and that's pretty much it lol

How long's a piece of string?
AFAIK you can piggyback for NPC standings (the actual corp you're running the mission for), but the storylines only give the missioning toon the increase, not the rest of the fleet.
Over and above that you have Cosmos missions and Datacentre tag agents in Amarr / Caldari Space (not so sure about Gal / Min space but assume a similar setup is in place) and, I believe the Epic Arc missions (once you get your NPC standings for the Epic Arc agent's corp high enough) increase faction standing on the final mission, but again only for the missioning toon and nobody else in fleet. The plus side of the Epic Arcs is that there's no opposing faction standing decrease afaik.

It will take you a very long time as faction standings only increase by running storyline missions as far as mission goes. So grind through level 4 missions and get a few agents going at a time and get those storyline missions rolling in. I believe every 10 normal missions you get a storyline mission offer and missions take about 30minutes on average to complete so that is about 5 hours of grinding level 4s to get a storyline and it will take quite a few storyline missions to get your factions standings up very high so i would suggest getting a lot of people to run missions for your alliance/corporation aswell... Not sure if all this is 100% accurate but im pretty sure from my experience of running missions.

Where to start 
1. Your going to need to read DMC standing repair plan, as it will help you gain faction standing.
2. I would recommend using the starter agents as completing their missions is the same as running storylines. They are free and usually require little skill to complete.
3. Your going to need to determine how much isk and time your willing to part with in order to get your faction standing up. If isk is an issue, your back to running lvl 4's with your main to unlock a lvl 4 agent for your alt. This will allow your alt to pull missions while you run them on your main. So after 16 missions your alt will get a storyline mission.
4. No one can accurately tell you how long its going to take because in the end it really depends on how much game time you get and how committed you are to getting this done. |
