Sentry guns...How far away do i have to be not to get ganked....still 150????

A friend of mine was ganked by sentrys at 172Km - so go 180 for sure

in my experience its based around how far you are from what they are protecting. you have to be 150km from the station/gate

what kehmor said its not the range from teh sentry guns at all its about what there protecting this is even stated in the FAQ.

um where? I have been hit by guns at a gate no less and was beyond 150 away from the guns.....thats almost 170+ from the gate itself...linkage please.

im pretty sure it used to be in the faq aswell but i cant find it now, also i have sniped gates many times and never had sentries shoot at me at over 150km from the gate unless i fired on either the sentry or the gate.

According to CCP, 150km is the maximum range. Theory and reality dont exactly agree.

Afaik, the sec level of the system change the range of the guns. I've been ganked by sentries at 160km from both gun and station. I think that was in a 0.4-system.
