Is there a guide to smart bombs, smart bomb skills and their use available?
Are smart bombs a one use deal? Fire off and then they need to be re-armed?
Asking as I see a 1 billion isk smart bomb for sale - what would you use this for? Would someone really blow off 1 billion isk in a single explosion?
Cheers!

The name may be misleading, they're not really bombs as such but AoE weapons and use cap. Some are very expensive as they're used on capital ships and have a huge range.

Smartbombs go boom.
Never used em myself, but it seems like the ship emits a shockwave to hit any surrounding noobs.
Hulkageddon ftw. Can I fit a smartbomb on a cruiser?

The name is misleading. Smartbombs are an AOE weapon that functions like a gun (you can set it to autorepeat and it will keep blasting repeatedly, using up your capacitor). What it does is it creates a spherical blast of fire around your ship that will damage everything (including your own drones, and neutral NPC's if they're in range).
Smartbombs have several limitations:
1. Their damage isn't that great; they're good for killing frigates, shuttles, and pods that get too close, if you're in a battleship and can't hit these small ships with your main guns.
2. They have very short range (5 km), and most frigate and interceptor pilots know this and will orbit your battleship at 7-10km, outside their range. The horribly overpriced smartbombs you see selling for billions are so because they have slightly bigger ranges (7+ km), thus enabling a skilled pilot to surprise the enemy.
3. They use a lot of capacitor for the damage they do, and they use up a gun slot. If you ever hear the term "disco"-battleship being used, that's a battleship with 8 smartbombs fitted; it's a very specific fitting designed to catch small ships as they pass through a gate camp, without the need to target lock them first. But that kind of fitting won't be able to even dent other battleships, so it's a sitting duck if it's solo.
4. Smartbombs will damage everything in their range, so if you use it in high sec (even in mission space), you may get Concord ****ed off at you, as the smartbomb may damage the gate, or some neutral NPC nearby that you're not supposed to shoot.

It can be pretty damn effective if you know what you're doing (4:35). Sol: A microwarp drive? In a battleship? Are you insane? They arenĘt built for this! Clear Skies - The Movie

they are handy in pvp if your enemy likes using ewar drones, as you don't need to get target lock on the enemy.... just make sure you are not on the station undock or sitting on a jump gate when you set them off. my first eve video

Love how it looked like a shoal of drakes moving like fish vs a mobile disco.
But I can see how well it'd work, all those smart bombs would have destroyed any missile sent at the blob.
and further more why do i even need a sig? |

Eve wiki says a medium EMP smartbomb does 100 damage. Isn't that really low for a cruiser-sized weapon?

Considering it's to each target in range and there could be dozens in range... highly situational. _

Chribba is a pretty regular troll, his best trolololols can be found here
and well I don't know if I'd call that post of his a troll, more like a sly reference to something other players might find funny. I thought trolling usually tried to trick a player
and nope I don't actually have a link but it is a technique I have seen Chribba use more than once (and I have fallen for more than once). okay I went and looked it up you can see what he does here: here

I agree. It is one of the best eve player videos i have seen and i have watched several dozen. The Firewall is also rather ingenious as its completely outside the box in terms of thinking.... well IMO.
Also it does look nearly like a proper disco ball:)
