remove static sec status of systems (except for main hubs and NPC mission systems)
Could systems sec status be variable depending on the cumulative player sec status in that system...
I'd say it couldnt be applicable to mission systems and major trade hubs as it could be manipulated too easely.
maybe make it so that the average is taken from the previous weeks activity in the system or previous days...
Obviously this would make ores and scannable things variable in systems where average sec status changes.
What it would bring... large lowsec to highsec ops, move 100's of low sec status players into highsec forcing the security status of that system down... and conversly a large mining corp could move into lowsec forcing up the sec status of lowsec systems into carebear systems...
For the carebear and those that macro mine... if that system gets forced down in sec status and they are not paying attention... pvp fun for pvpers...
For the PVPers who gate camp all day, they could be navy or concorded out one day if they are not paying attention....
seems like a good balance to me?
Not sure if this has been raised 100's of times before but I think it would solve many of the carebear/pvp issues and make EVE more dynamic and interesting...

yea, I probably should have posted there, but I've been reading posts in this thread and there are many which complain about punishment / lack of punishment risk ratio etc... moreso wanted to hear what the pros and cons would be in the 'crime and punishment' context. after all sec status of systems dictates how cime and punishment can be dished out...
I really thought EVE was made up of players with high IQ... I guess I posted in the forum subject thats honored with ex-wow players... maybe I can find more Intelligence from people frequenting the suggestions subject... probably not - based on the minutes from the CSM meetings... and the eve IRC channels... and the replies to this thread...

Perhaps the main problem is that when you have a brain fart and a shiity idea dribbles out you run to the wrong forum section and post it. Then you seem to get surprised when the people who activily post there seem to mind.
But hey now that you have a set in stone opinion of the EVE Community it will hasten your departure. Maybe Blizzard will like your poorly thought out idea's posted in there forum.

Don't you see - by making this into a troll thread, he's trying to bring it around back on topic. It's really quite sweet of him to try.
For when this does get moved to AH : Not supported, bad idea. Flexible security status potentially could be a cool idea, not like this though. Any flexible security status would have to be at a snail's pace, and most hi-sec players would riot at even that.

Thanks, although... I sincerely apologise. I arrived from search, read several threads within this subject without reading the subject description in the forum index. I did read the posting rules from the sticky expecting to find a description. I should have put more thought into it. agian sorry.

It does make sense that the security status of a system is determined by the actually "level of security" instead of arbitrary values. Although you can argue that the increased presence of concord is what determines the "level of security" instead of pirate activity.
Even if you could come up with a reasonable way to determine the "level of security" of a system you have to completely revamp everything dependent on the sec level. Such as asteroids, PI, concord, etc. It makes no sense to have different asteroids or more resources magically spawn because there are more pirates in a system.
Also it will generally mean more attractive systems have low security levels and less attractive systems will have high sec levels. If you think about it, it's what we have now. Lower security systems have more valuable resources and are therefore more attractive.
This will also make space be like a checkerboard of high/low sec.

Pirates dont want chaos, pirates want easily campable chokepoints where they can get many risk-free ganks. Go away.
