I do hope you can help me. I have finally had enough of Eve, not in a rage way, just bored to the point of not wanting to play anymore.
I had one last spin of the wheel for something interesting, but a very expensive loss later, that idea went to the dogs.
So, I have made the decision to quit the game after 7 years. I don't expect anyone to care, I am just hoping for ideas what to do next.
I tried WoW, got bored. Star trek online, well, need we say more on how bad that is?
Suggestions would be most welcome!

Set a long skill and play some solo-player games. To look on s other MMO is a waste of time.
I was 5 years away to play WoW. Today i think this was a real waste of time. In EvE all think you do effect this game, players and markets. Or wait for spring and try Guildwars 2.
Good soloplayer games are 'Plants vs Zombies, Sin of a Soloarempire, Civ 5, Armada 2526.

There is no MMO currently out or being in development that could, in any way, replace an MMO like EVE. Not being a fanboy here (far from it) but it's just not even a contest. The ONLY one might be the thing Blizzard is working on, partly because blizzard knows what it's doing and mostly because they haven't bothered to tell us yet what it's going to be about so in our minds we'll hype it and hope it's fantastic.
Here's what I've done when I had a burnout (happened several times), go play something else for a few months, don't touch MMO's at all. Play some shooters, try some RPG's perhaps even just go outside (gasp) and do other stuff. In a few months the urge for MMO's might/will come back and you'll just realise that there's nothing like EVE, sadly.

I would wait and see if guild wars 2, Tera, Blade and soul, or any of the new mmo's coming out in the next year or 2 are any good, personally.
Hell, that's all I'm using Eve for, to bide my time until they come out, that is.

You won't find anything better than EVE out there. Just quit MMOs altogether instead. Get some different kind of hobby. _

Edited by: ivar R''dhak on 02/11/2010 00:33:07 STO definitely needs more time though the DEVs are furiously working on it. But I guess you¦re not much of a Trekkie like these guys: A letter to Starfleet Command from Vice Admiral Stipe
Either get a fracking big Bro Steam account and waste your money on some good old school games you missed the last 7 years or just go outside for a change.
Also if you¦re a bit D&D curious check out D&D Online, great Free2Play model. Lord of the Rings Online is going F2P too, even in Europe. _________________________________________________

Lots of interesting comments there, allow me to go through them :)
I cannot give anyone my stuff, as I previously mentioned I have none due to a slight er, mishap that ended in me losing pretty much everything I had. I guess this had an input in me quitting
I like the idea of going and finding a girl, but I think my wife might have something to say about it lol.
I have to grudgingly agree that there Is no alternative on the MMO fron, so will not try anything else. I lost pretty much all I had. I suppose I need to man up and start over!
I tried World of Tanks, didn't like it, by the way.

don;t wast your money on wow. I pretty much dropping that dam since the patch. I find the toons across all classes unbalnced and not much fun anymore.
I would try Lord of the rings (free to play) I am waiting for a friend to give me a trail for Aion.
Though I really say don;t bother waiting crap load of money on wow and expansions. just not worth the money.

Its good stuff and when the november patch hits you get access to every single area of the game and can go all the way to the level 65 cap. Its a bit restrictive on the extra stuff you can do like crafting and any quests that are not in the epic line but its still alot of stuff to do for free. Plus you can earn points to use in the store to buy mounts and quest packs from just running around and killing stuff so there is always a way to get ahead without paying.
