When I was out patrolling wormholes tonight I witnessed something that made my stomach turn and which needs to be exposed to the general New Eden public.
After some quick d-scanning I discovered a hound on scan, not at a pos and obviously not cloaked either. It was called "free for taking". Now who would call his hound something like that?, I asked myself.
I warped to a far out celestial with nothing on d-scan, decloaked and dropped my combat scanner probes to pin it down. When I located it in a particularly dark corner of the system and had warped to it at a safe range, it turned out that the poor thing was in fact completely left to itself. Abandoned in w-space. Just like that.
As I couldn't do much for it from the confines of my Cheetah I quickly left the hole, docked up and went back again in my Animal Rescue Pod, all the while hoping that it hadn't ran off.
Luckily it was still there. But my relief was short lived as it quickly became clear what the previous owner had done to it before dumping it like a piece of trash:

Please rest assured that the hound is doing well at the moment and will be taken care of properly and responsibly from now on.
If anyone knows who is to blame for this and/or anything else related to this terrible case of abuse, please contact me so appropriate punishment can be handed down and further neglect can be prevented.

Eww, a prototype cloaking device on a Hound. Eww, two co-processors. Someone apparently sucks at fitting a cloakie ship.
My assumption was that some nub ejected when he realized he was stuck in W-Space, but the probe launcher is there. Either he was so nubby he couldn't use it, or he left his probes back in K-Space.

Nah he still had normal core scanner probes in his hold. Probably a newly generated hole would have landed him 80 jumps off and he cut his losses. Or he sucked too bad at probing his way out again. V_V

My friend you have such a good heart, giving that little hound a nice new home..
And in such a warm environment.
Now he's no longer left in cold space and can instead play every now and then with his new friends, my beloved hounds castor and pollux that guard the entry to the chamber where Socratics corpse is stretched on their weekly day off.
