We have a relationship with CCP, plain and simple. And if I've learned anything about interpersonal relationships, it's that a certain level of two-way communication is required to keep both parties relatively happy. CCP seems to have learned this and is showing a previously unseen level of communication.
Kudos CCP! Yes we all want to be able to log in and play (relatively) lag free, but before that we want you to tell us what the heck is going on. Thanks for the updates!
PS. Now that we know that you know how to update us on what's going on you realize we're going to expect this level of communication with all updates/patches/upgrades right? :)

That would kick it forward an hour each day.
DT has been officially reduced to 30mins each day and CCP plans to elimiate DT entirely as their hardware and software improves. There's a devblog about it. You won't have to put up with it for much longer, and it's getting shorter all the time.
Yar. Yesterday's downtime didn't even seem long enough for me to bounce my computer.

They did that before? Lol. That would be cool, but not going to happen
Yes they did , when they patched or updated to tyrannis, maybe u have them still in your quere 4 use ? XDD saved me 4 days those 100k points :D
Yes they did, but if I remember right, that was mainly due to some "unprecedented" extra downtime (about a day or something, cant exactly remember). Thats why we got the extra skill point, not because of the update. From memory, they were relocating the servers at the same time as updating to Tyrannis - a ballsy move that didnt quite go as planned. Also, if I remember correctly, you only had about a week or 2 to use them. If you were all paid up, you got them, but I'm pretty sure their long gone now.
Wasn't it something to do with the physical move of the servers to a London colo facility? At least that's what my (old, tired and worn out) brain is trying to tell me.

When I go hunting it is inevitable my wife is going to complain and say "What time will you be home?" I always tell her 5 hours past when I think I am going to be home. That way if I run late I am still on time... if I get home when I thought I would be, I'm early. Being early usually has a lot better consequences than being late
Try this strategy next time and the Eve community will love you!
See "Scotty Time"
LaForge: I told the captain I'd have it done in an hour. Scotty: How long will it really take you? LaForge: An hour. Scotty: [flabbergasted] You dinna tell him how long it would actually take?!!

Originally by: Nerodia Crotalus When your brand new car has an electronics problem or a misfire, or your new house springs a leak, or your new computer blue-screens, you MIGHT have warranties for repair or free service or whatnot, but YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY YOUR DEBT ON THAT ITEM WHILE IT'S BEING FIXED!!! I'd love to see ANY of you take your Chevy Cavalier (you loser) into the dealership and demand a reduced payment that month because "it needed fixed and I couldn't use it." <snip>
For physical goods your argument holds some weight but when talking about a non-tangible service it begins to falter. When the local telco screws up their routing table and my T1 is down for a day you can bet your ass that they are going to discount my bill a proportionate amount. When the ASP model EMR we use at work goes down, you can bet that the vendor is going to comp me for the time that we were down.
I'm not playing devil's advocate 'cause I'm a CCP fanboi, just merely pointing out the fact that you are trying to compare apples and chairs.

Something that is a little disheartening... this is an update, not an expansion. /me wonders how the Incursus load is gonna go (even though history already gives me an idea. :( )
