Edited by: Starlight Twilight on 02/11/2010 22:55:56 anyone have any advice for the Amarr epic arc besides "abandon it until you have a domi"?
its ******ly difficult to kill anything with turrets because most of the missions are against sansha and usually half the room has tracking disruptors
or should I just abandon the Amarr epic arc all-together? because from what I've read and been told that "the reward is not worth the time and effort" especially for someone that runs missions in a turreted ship Star Light Star bright, The first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. This is "The Blood-Stained Stars"? I've done it all right up to Dagon just fine in Maller. Just pick Caldari when it comes to the bit before Dagon (he then gets Kinetic resists[lawl]), and your lasers will shred him.

I completed them in missile boat. Which mission is giving you problems?

the tracking disruptors, lots of damage by battleships that orbit at 45-50km where pulses have problems doing damage, and the fact cruisers and frigates that orbit less than 20km (the ones that TD like *******s) take the longest to kill
Several times I've had my optimal get reduced to 5km with tachs and TCs w/ optimal, and the stupid damage the spawns do along with the fact they drop nothing worth mentioning is bull****, on top of that the time required to grab my salvage dessy to salvage wreaks that are 100+km apart isn't worth it for the meager salvage and loot they have Star Light Star bright, The first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. Which mission in the epic arc are you referring to?

trick is to do the same as you do a sansha blockade mission, what i do is fly straight at the elite cruisers and kill them at short range, one at the time a good tank and drones also help alot, make sure you know what the triggger ships are. I use a abadon with t2 pulse and a ab, good cap management is a must
The one mission where you facing those 4 amarr battle ships , can't remember its name i found it almost impossibel to tank the first wave, what i did in the end was go in kill or damage one ship and warp out again repair armor and shields and repeat till you killed them the other waves aren't so hard or do as much dps as that first group but after doing the amarr epic arc 3 times now it isn't really that hard except for that one mission with those veteran amarr battleships I was even dissapointed that in the last mission if you concentrate on the boss first and kill him( he goes down relative fast) none of the other spawns appear

yep I was using that, and yes I was using a nightmare also with 2 TCs for the first couple of missions, and the mission about chasing down the sansha commander, a full T2 cap stable tank with 1 shield amp, XL booster, and 4 hardeners cannot put up with the damage. full set of tachs cannot shoot the close range enemies that orbit at 20km or less, and Pulses cannot effectively damage the battleships at 50km
abandoned this epic arc Star Light Star bright, The first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. I wish for chocolate! |

I completed it with my Abaddon without any warp outs iirc, but yeah the trick is to kill the Hellhound Cruisers FIRST and then work your way down. off the top of my head Hell Hounds, Plague Lords and Beast Lords are the Turret Disruptors and I curse them ALOT.
My fit was 2x Imp Navy Heat Sinks 1x Imp Navy EAP 2x True Sansha emp hards 1x True Sansha Therm Hards 1x Imp Navy Repper
3x Cap Rechargers 1x Republic TP
4x Navy Beam Lasers 3x Mega Beam Lasers 1x Drone Link
2x CCC 1x Rep booster
Hammerheads and Hobgoblins
At times it was slow going because of seemingly endless ECM, but doable. But sometimes I think it is nice to have a mission that puts some sweat on your forehead

^^This. The missions become repetitive, a lot of BS that need spanking.

Bah, that arc is not difficult at all.
If you bring ONE friend, even in a lowly frigate, things will be much easier.

You are SO doing it wrong.
this is what I used to complete the arc in one sitting. If i was being disrupted i would use my drones to take out what ships i could asap.
[Nightmare] Heat Sink x3 Tracking Enhancer x2
Shield Boost Amplifier Medium Shield Booster Photon Scattering Field x2 Heat Dissipation Field x2 Cap Recharger II
Tachyon Beam Laser, Multifrequency L x4
Large Capacitor Control Circuit II Large Capacitor Control Circuit I x2
Drones To Suit

Don't you have any friends? Just get someone to remote rep you and this won't be any hazzle at all.
I can be your friend you know... but nevermind me, I'll just sit here forever alone.

Actually, a corp member managed to get a bunch of newbies together that were interested in the Amarr epic arc, a couple of marauders, cruisers, battlecruisers and a frig and simply blew though all the epic arc missions we did that day... the problem is that I have to find them again Star Light Star bright, The first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, Have the wish I wish tonight. Just finished this in a nightmare.
Tracking disruption was annoying for a bit but not terrible.
BTW was there supposed to be a + to amarr faction gain? (after finishing the right to rule mission that is)

Did mine in an active tanked tengu, only issue i had was the epic sized neut... had to warp out once. Other than that smashed it to bits. Really find a ship with missiles and laugh at the sansha's silly tracking disruptors
