Edited by: Zverofaust on 04/11/2010 04:10:58 Picture this:
I'm sitting on a stargate in lowsec during a fight. I'm in an Oneiros. I start taking armour damage and it dips below 50% so I hit the jump button of the stargate I am on. Nothing happens.
A good 15 seconds later I end up in the target system, 1 million kilometers off of the in-gate, in a pod, in mid-warp. In between the moment I hit the jump button and the moment I saw myself in a pod in the next system I saw approximately 3 frames of random camera angle.
Is this a new feature?
I ask because this is the second time this has happened. The first time CCP made it clear that despite something going severely wrong on their end, they had no responsibility to do anything about it. So I'm beginning to wonder if this is actually a feature of this game that I should come to expect on a regular basis.
I'll be waiting for a replacement in my hanger. ___________________________________________ The Hero of Kamela The Terror of Tararan The Executioner of Ezzara |

Yes, it's a new highslot module called a "dysyncer" Signature locked for editing a moderator's warning. Zymurgist |

As annoying as you are your situation is, there's nothing CCP can do about it because its not the kind of thing they can test for or that logs record. The logs actually show nothing!

preets sure this is not true. I mean as long as the problem is server side then it is obvious, from the timing requests came to the server and responses followed that that user had lag.
if his ship blew up somewhere in-between, then he should, according to reimbursements policies, have his ship reimbursed. thing is there are a lot of very smart very capable people working at CCP, but none of them work at support. I mean is it to much to ask for them to even understand basic game mechanics? And at least edit the copy paste responses?

Actually CCP made it pretty clear after one of the Sisi tests that Logging is so broken it didnt log anything when the server lagged too much, so in fact logs do show NOTHING :)

No it's not a new feature.
In fact it's been a part of the game for a while. I was losing ships to desync several years ago, and oddly it seems to have got better (only one in the last few months).
There's also an issue with pods not responding to spammed warp requests, I assume also caused by desyncing.
Funny thing is that it should be obvious to CCP that if your pod initiates a logoff warpaway, but you didn't log in and out, that there is an issue. The logs showing nothing is often exactly what we would expect to see as proof that it was an issue.
