currently, some alliances use the exploit of deploying own SBUs in order to defend their systems. Sounds curios but its a fact, as long your SBUs are set, everybody else is denied to put their SBUs up there. IMO, this mechanic is broken and should be changed in aspect of on-/offlining delays make them the same. Deploying SBUs in your own systems should render them vulnerable for at least 3 hours per cycle, allowing the opponent reinforcing structures in a vulnerable system.

a much simpler solution:
1. SBUs online automatically once anchored, timer remains unchanged. 2. it doesnt matter, who owns the SBUs, the will make the system vulnerable and everyone can attack the ihub/station.

They Do.
This is how its 'Abused', note that it only works very effectively in systems with lots of gates.
Lets say the system Dave, owned by the Alliance "Blue". The alliance "Red" is coming to attack blue.
Blue alliance drop 3 SBU's in Dave and online them in advance. When Red turns up to attack, they can only drop 3 SBU at the remaining 3 gates.
Now, when their 3 SBU come online, the system will be vulnerable, and the iHub/Station may be attacked.
Blue Alliance turns up just as red are about to attack, then they offline their 3 SBU, and begin onlining them again.
Now, less than 50% of gates are covered, thus the system becomes invulnerable again and Red's attack is thwarted.
Now Red, instead of simply having to place 4+ SBU in the system to begin their siege, they must first attack and successfully kill Blue's SBU's, and then drop and protect their own for the full duration. --------------------------------------

Edited by: Robert Caldera on 05/11/2010 10:40:26 this is a really rtarded mechanic and should be fixed - extending the offlining delay to 3h would be one possible solution.

We did this during the Dominion Sov test on Sisi and no one blinked.

Sounds fine to me. It has a counter. It's a valid and creative use of in game mechanics.

FIX THIS CR*P MECHANIC ALREADY
SBUin you own system in order to block enemy from SBUing makes the new rtarded sov mechanics even more crappy in TZ wars as they already are and should not be possible.

I really don't see what you are whining about. If you want to take a system and they have sbu's down, blow them and and put yours down.
Oh wait, bobby is always right, so we should always see things his way. Is that the gist of it?

Edited by: Robert Caldera on 11/11/2010 09:55:00 the problem is you cant shoot them until the reinforce timer expires. So downing nmy sbu's and reinstalling your own saves structures effectively from being shot at timer expiration since you can always offline yours if the structure is shot. Or at least it delays enemy forces by 3 hours waiting for a new SBU onlining because you werent able to down them while the timer ticked down.
Preventing the enemy from SBUing your systems by installing your own should not work. How rtarded is this???

So why did you reinforce a system with the defenders SBUs online? If you would have then just popped the SBUs and onlined your own, at the same time your other SBUs were onlining, you wouldnt have had a problem.
