hi, I'm just wondering how they work and if you need any skills to use em, I can do invention on some stuff and I bought a decryptor but when I'm going to start decrypting it looks like it doesn't find the decryptor is there a reason for this?

You don't need any skills to use decryptors, but:
a) there is - I think - still a cache problem with things in the hangars (wait a few seconds)
b) more likly: you can't use any decryptor for everything. Depending on what you invent you must use the racial decryptor (compare interface)

well I'm inventing a ship just to try it out it's a galante ship and I bought Symbiotic Figures. is there some where I can see what decryptors I can use with what stuff?

Ensure the decryptor is in the same location as the BPC and datacores. If it doesn't show up in the options when you go to do the invention, cancel the job, move the items to a different hangar tab (or put them in your cargohold temporarily), then put them back into the hangar tab and try again.
I've found this happens now and then in my POS labs. By moving the items out and back in again, it seems to clear up the "bug". If you have multiple labs, move the items into anothert lab and try it from there.
Note: Symbiotic Figures is probably not a good choice to do a ship invention. Ship inventions have the lowest chance of success to begin with, and that decryptor knocks that back by another 40%.
If you are trying to invent a T2 frigate for example, and have your encryption and datacore skills all at IV, your chance of success is only 36.19%. Using that decryptor, it drops down to 21.72%.
If it works you'll get more runs on the T2 BPC, but they will also require more T2 materials to build.
