How does PI work with Dust 514 and will their be more features added for planetary control on the Eve side? Is there a UI addition for this? |

Planetary control maps will likely be next summer with Dust expanding into 0.0.
The only thing mentioned for planet sov sharing with space sov is PI boosting within districts on planet and space sov system bonuses to which we can only guess.
0.0 expansion for dust will likely be on sisi first, and that's likely the first time anyone will know what is going on other than perhaps a dev blog just before it happens. |

Simply put, they will probably make or change planets to have a reason to want them.
PI right now is cheap, you will probably be able to build on planets to do something, possibly moon minerals will be mineable from planets with expensive infrastructure.
to make dust worth anything in nullsec they have to make planets worth taking over instead of just nuking them from orbit. only way I see that is either PI prices skyrocketing( the prices for buildings on planets), or construction on planets like outpost in nullsec |

Nope, PI was put together by a failure of a team. It was suppose to let us do a million things, including being part of dust 514. But it's trash, sorry to disappoint.
Still waiting on regions, population control, and the ability to be a nice leader or to push my civilization hard. PI is imo the biggest let down in CCP history the game would be better if they threw it away and started over. They can reuse assest,but I'm sad to say it is the most abandoned feature eve has ever seen. Even cosmos missions are less abandoned. Even FW wasn't abandoned this hard. PI was abandoned even before release.

PI is another example of pre summer of rage CCP biting off more then they could chew code wise behavior.
Ive grown to like PI as a one person moon mining pos. Clearly not the same thing. But the same concept, set it, forget it, profit.

I would propose to CCP that information on the direction of PI should be communicated to the community for those of us who want to work with the Dust 514 mercs. It only makes perfect sense and would promote Dust 514 in the Eve community within the game itself.
Do you think the halt in the direction and development of PI was due to the summer of rage, fear of releasing anything new except space ships due to the summer of rage, or they had to rethink everything due to Dust 514?
I have to point out that if there is no PI to work with the Dust Bunnies there is going to be some very frustrated immortals.

I wouldn't mind if they left the current PI tree for solo industrialists.
Yet they could build on a corp level tree with factories that can only be built via corporate command center that specifically interacts with Dust districts. |

Nuking a planet from orbit will not be a cost efficient way of winning. Thankfully CCP made it so it cost you ISK and assets of some kind to do an orbital strike. You cant just roll up to a planet in a moros and start blasting away.
It will cost the guy in space quite a bit to do an orbital strike, and CCP is looking at maybe making an Orbital strike part of the merc contracts.

According to CSM minutes, territories that have PI activity in it will gain a boost from it, however owners of the location can tax the area as well for that boost. However this is still whiteboard plan atm and can change any day.
Maybe one day the bunnies can destroy them.

PI will supply products used in the production chain for items built in EvE and sold to Dust players.

I have to agree. It would be better to simply trash the current development and start over. They can reuse the art assets but thats it, for the rest of it not a single tear will be shed. |
