Anybody know where/how I can pull EVE audio files out of the game files?
((Hardware fundamentals, we need to create our own themes for a desktop, I want EVE))

Download this and open up resSND, and "unstuff" it.
There is a few others that may contain sound files as well.

Have a look at this recent thread about that issue.

the thread links to a theory that suggests a possbility if sound interacts with a a crystal, not found in a significant amount in space that it could translate sound into electricity and back again but the main problem is there is no sound in the first place because you can't commpress empty space to cause a sound wave to be created.

There is sound in space. The frequency is extremely low though due to space being mostly empty.
Mostly being the keyword.

there is a debate about that on if it's sound or stray electrons moving thru space being interpreted as sound. and I'm not talking occupied space here. as the earths atmo, or upper reaches of it can cause waves to travel thru material as far as the moon.
true deep space is very poorly understood as it's a little far a way to do testing in

I linked it because of it also mentioning why there is sound in space in EVE (sort of), which OP is about.
