Thought I'd go and try a COSMOS mission. Accepted a mission that involved 3 rooms and had to retrieve a corps from a wreck in the last room. I accepted the mission and proceeded to the acceleration gate that was less than 8000K from the agent. When I came into the first room, there was wrecked ships everywhere, thought this was odd. Proceeded to room 2 (accel gate) and found same thing. As i entered the last room, noticed another pilot in the room with drones out killing rats. I headed cloaked towards the wreckage that held the mission Corps. The other pilot finished off the rats and was able to get to the wreck ahead of me and warp off. When I get to wreck, no Corps to be had. Petition EVE help, and get told that probing mission deadspace is a normal part of the game. What a laugh, doesnt even apply to the complaint. After several mails back and forth, I get told thats the way it is sorry for any inconvenience. What a stupid way to run COSMOS missions, I mean really. How hard is it to program the game so that 2 pilots cannot enter the same mission unless the mission is probed down.

COSMOS missions are located in public deadspace areas. The gates are always there and the rats are constantly respawning and anyone can enter regardless of having the mission or not.
Just wait until it respawns and kill it yourself - This one time, at gate camp, I shot a shuttle... |

It was a Gallente COSMOS mission?
If it is the one I recall the corpse will spawn regularly, so you should be capable of finding if you try again.
If not you can look contracts for the item. The only way to get a profit for those corpses is to sell them to the people running the mission.

What a a**hat.
Did the same mission some time ago. Do as above poster say, corpse respawn and get it.
Be aware that cosmos missions (as locations, or at least systems, are known by everybody) are highjacked regulary.
Hope this helps.
