I'm looking for a new headset to replace my Fatal1ty. The mic being de-attachable is a nice feature, unless you lose it.
I've been trying to find reasonable comparisons and reviews, but it's all dated or about products that don't interest me(Wireless = No.). Based on what I did find, best would apparently be the "Creative WoW Headset", but eh, really?
The surround sound ones seem interesting, but again, can't find any proper reviews and many of them(Turtle Beach?) seem to be for consoles only. The most talked about one seemed to be Psyko 5.1, but I can't find it for sale in any Finnish online stores.
So, share your opinions on what I should get. Comfortability is a big issue, as I do wear these so much.
Thanks for any input.

Holy balls, can't understand a word of what they're talking about on those forums. I don't even have a separate sound card or anything. Also, the one you linked is from 2008.
But thanks anyways, trying to make some sense of what is being said.

Get the PC350
Best gaming headset I've owned. Blew my failing Razer Barracudas out of the water.
If you're in the States, don't buy from Newegg however, Amazon.com has much cheaper prices.
Edit:
Don't worry about what they are saying in that linked thread, I run mine off my built in Motherboard sound card on my laptop, and desktop, and they still sound incredible with good EQ settings. ------------------- "Do you know what the chain of command is here? It's much more incredible when you use an amp. I'm not even sure how can someone call sound coming from an unamplified source good.
Let me rephrase it: there's a world of difference. We aren't talking about some minor details. Talking about serious difference.
If you don't want to shell out ridiculous $$$ for a decent amplifier then go with an ASUS XONAR STX (has a built-in amp which beats most sub $500 headphone amps).

I wasn't even aware of any amps existing for normal PC use until I saw those forums O.o
But after reading around I went with Sennheiser PC333D. Don't kill me.
Also, the 350 has a newer version already, 360.

Since this has been brought up...
Anyone have experience with the Triton headsets? My roommate has an older one (with the mini-amp box), and that's held up well. Unfortunately I cannot find that model anymore.
Oh, and the moment I saw those Sens in one of the links, I'd have to pass on them. Cushions need to be fabric-covered instead of that thin leatherette stuff they use - it peels off pretty quickly every time I've tried them.

I have the sennheiser PC 350, and there is no kind of bass/low frequency to be heard, please tell me what I'm doing wrong. Really disappointed in that aspect of the headset.

i find that type of headset uncomfortable because they press your a bit and the ear dont stay "free" the ones like pc 350 press against you skull and the ear stay "free" also in the case of pc350 that headset have noise cancellation another "bad2 part of the pc333d is the usb

That's what I recommend. Upgraded to them from my Razer Barracuda's best money I've ever spent. Signature removed for not being EVE related. Zymurgist |

Sennheiser all the way, but make sure they go around the ears, not rest on them.

If you have computer speakers that must be plugged into the wall outlet to be powered and these speakers have port for headphones, you have your amplifier.
