Hey CCP and everyone else.
I am just a nobody who has played this game with different accounts on and off for about 6-8 years. At a stage in my life now where I simply cannot put enough time in this game without sacrificing new things that I would like to sink my teeth into.
This post is just a big thanks to CCP for the fun I had and to simply impart the things I think about the game to give them yet another blip of feedback for. Going to be fairly in depth but just off my heart.
First I would like to comment on the balance of progression and convenience of the game. I think you guys are in a good spot right now where I could log in for about 30 minutes and get at least some small progression done, but if you want to achieve anything significant you need to put some time into it. This way your build-up means something but you aren't daunted completely with the idea that you need to be here 24/7 to achieve anything.
Second regarding security/non-consensual pvp mechanics. I am really interested in what changes you guys are looking into. I know my opinion would be nothing compared to hardcore pvpers, but I think the idea of making the gates a little more accessible for people but also making it possible to fight in a frigate at them is a very good compromise. To me, I am someone who likes to look for one-sided fights, get some easy cash once a while, and most of all just cause havoc to some complacency. This also means I am very cheap and like to fight in a destroyer/frigate most of the time. Changes like what you are making to the gates give people like me some new options to play with, even if it is harder for BS's to sit there. Overall I can agree that sometimes it seems that many other changes have inhibited non-consensual pvp, but at the end of the day I am finding it rarer to see people in areas that I can take advantage of so if more people are given an easier time in exchange for some bravery on their part then I would accept that. As long as there is something to make all areas have some risk the spirit of the game should remain intact.
Third, the community, chat, and avatars. The remake you did to our characters are nothing short of amazing. I actually keep the avatar view on chat because I can usually recognize faces really well and this game actually allows me to sufficiently differentiate between any chatter quickly like in real life. You are also improving with the channels such as throwing EVE-Radio in the defaults now, though I really think you should consider looking into sponsoring them officially if you haven't already. To me, when I get home and log on this game, I am really just logging on to chat with some people, hear what's going on, and maybe do something useful in game too. Anything to improve this experience is good.
That is all I have on the top of my head to say. Like I said I am not the most experienced person around nor do I play as much as I should to become anybody significant, but I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in.
Have a good one, I will probably just try to blow a frig up or 2 in high sec before I peace out in a few days. On and off for years but I think this is the final one - too many things to do out there and it's time I made peace with what I wanted out of this adventure.
You can ask for my stuff but in these times I think like 40mill total assets is kind of peanuts to everyone considering everyone talks of billions. Wouldn't be worth the pixels asking I am sure. |
