hi there, im still hesitating what to use for a bit of PVP in a destroyer, a Cat, coerc or a Corm...
i dont think the extra launcher slot of the corm is usefull, but the range bonus is nice.
Cat is nice to kill inties a think, but i havent gotten a clue what to fit on it...
Coerc is sweet cuz you dont need ammo and you can have 8 guns.
Atm i have a corm with 7 125's and 1 std launcher. 1 MWD small neut Shield booster, webbie and cap recharger low a PDU. (PDU is needed to fit all the guns and mwd)
any hints?
i want to take out the quick jamming frigs and inties, so which ship, and what fitting would be best? ___________________________ "what did that button do??"

now use your mid slots for a standard anti- inty setup.
Try too get named 125mm rails or better yet tech 2 125's.
Low either a tech 2 damage mod or tracking enhancer or wcs.

All the destroyers are good for PvP, all have their strong points in it. I've been using a Thrasher with some success the last couple days.
The thrasher I'm using right now is set up this way:
hi 5x 250mm light artillery 2x small nos 1x standard launcher
mid 1mn MWD web scrambler
low 1x cap power relay 1x signal amp I
Only had the signal amp on because I didn't have an extra CPR laying around at the time, but it does alleviate some of the lock range problems. Seems to work quite well for taking out other frigs and destroyers, as well as tackling in gangs goes about 1.8k/sec. And that setup uses nowhere near all the grid so there is room for improvement.
Cormorant is a bit more fun, but kind of restricting because of grid and lack of low slots. Just going by memory on this.
hi 6x 125mm rails (proto) 1x small nos 1x standard launcher
mid 1mn mwd scramble 2x web (or 2x scrambler in fleet)
low believe I had a PDU here if not a cpr.
Catalyst is used best with tech2 rails or tech2 blasters. And the coercer is a dmg dealer.

cant remember it very well but something along these lines: HI: 8 * named 150mm rails MED: 1MN MWD Named preferred LO: Can't remember exactly, it involved 1 MAPC and some other stuff

Interceptor = Tech II. Its superior in a lotta ways, depending on which you use, requires more skills and is 10x more expensive to replace.
Following the 'Only fight in what you can afford to lose' rule, if you have the skills and choice for either right now, use the Destroyer only if you can't afford to fly interceptor or if you want to experiment with oddball weapons setups. To expensive to test some things in PvP with elite frigates sometimes. With a destroyer, well, they're cheap to replace if you pull a lame setup combo.
If you're new to PvP at all, go with the destroyer for awhile, til you learn the ropes. There's one benefit also ... since tdestroyers are relatively easy to kill and cheap and less deadly to large ships, interceptors win higher priority on the targeting list in pitched combat. You may get ignored a tad longer if you're lucky.

id say all the destoyers are good for PvP. but im not going to be caught dead in one. i can kill one dessy after 40 sec or less in a assault frig |
