CCP, did you honestly look at the Supercarriers in their current state, and say "we need more of that"?

Well it wont make any difference except provide the lucky highsec dwellers who obtain a BPC with isk from 0.0 pilots who want to fly a faction sC.
For all we know its tank will be hopeless making it inferior to the nyx & aeon in fleetfights.

Named capital mods sound neat.
As far as having an even more powerful supercarrier on the field well since the supply will be strictly regulated by ccp as its a drop they will be like a mach or nightmare in a bs fleet. Yes both are awesome ships that far outclass a normal battleship but both are still going to die to the massive alpha strike like the normal bs.
Non issue tbh.

Edited by: Wacktopia on 10/11/2010 21:11:08 Agree with the above; adding one more (rare and silly expensive) SC to the set will not change their current state.
If CCP deem SCs to be overpowered then they will nerf them as a whole.

Somebody forgot about the fighter-bomber rework...
They wont be able to kill anything below a BS with Fighterbombers. So they will still be capital party crashers, but BC fleets will eat them alive unsupported.

Interesting topic when you consider the threads before the SuperCarrier changes. IE, the most useless Cap+ Ship in the game.
I'd say lets wait to see how the figher bombers change plays out.

Because we all know SC's die to massive alpha strikes...

Consider also, that proliferation of these supercarriers would be much easier to control relative to ones built from BPOs.

Someone forgot how turrets work.
Hint: Approaching FB will have nearly 0 transversal on their target. Yay instapop, just like before.

Rrrrright. (No.) Considering how few Scaps die compared to the rate of production and how they become practically invincible in huge numbers due to game breaking lag and the complete lack of counters, it's safe to say that any kind of control will fail horribly.
Adding even more unbalanced and overpowered ships, no matter how, is a highly disappointing from ccp. 0.0 has been rectally sodomized enough already, stop making it even worse.

Maybe CCP should consider removing all SuperCap BPOs from the market and make a BPC of their choice a reward for maintaining Max Sov for a period of time.

Sansha supercarrier bpc will be drops from the last part of the fight of an incursion. So ccp have total control over the rate of proliferation as they control the drop rates. And thats not even counting someone popping the wreck before someone can loot the bpc or if looted the hazards of getting it back to a safe area to use it. So in effect they are going to be a few steps below unique ship status like the imperial apoc or state raven etc etc.
