Works best that way, resists are great for remote repping, damage projection is awesome for its size (better than cookie cutter shield gank tracka-cane, a lot better than vagabond), and good mobility. A great skirmish cruiser for fast-moving shield gangs.
Downside is its very tight fit, AWU 5 every proper gallente pilot should have anyway, but Shield Upgrades V is also needed.
Likes to have skirmish links in gang obviously, and either dmg implants or even snakes.
would use ECM drones instead damage ones tho. ---

Edited by: Wacktopia on 15/11/2010 16:24:31 I would not fly this tbh because I can fly a Vagabond but it can work fitted as a Vaga...

Deimos really should be as fast as vagabond. It should be slightly less agile, much more dps than vaga and it's major weakness "do or die" enagment range (meanign vagabond will still be ultimate solo hac).

Originally by: Suicida1 To achieve that CCP will need to drop silly active tanking bonus and give deimost pure speed bonus per level.
The diemost don't got a active tanking bonus.
The main problem of the diemost is that it is ballanced around other HAC, even if it is supposed to go eye on eye with other much more powerful short range ships while most of the other HACs are not.
Also it lacks anything particular useful that would make it interesting over the rax/brutix at close range after you lost the speed advantage by entering tackle range.

oh sorry, its been years since i looked at this useless ship. I still believe they need to drop whateve useless bonus it has and go for speed and agility.
Edit: ok i checked it ingame, change it from "ente Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Medium Hybrid Turret damage and 5% increase to MicroWarpdrive capacitor bonus per level"
to
"ente Cruiser Skill Bonus: 5% bonus to Agility and 5% increase to MicroWarpdrive speed bonus per level"

The fight between vagabond and deimost shall be a close fight
Fit it right, and the Deimos wipes the floor with the Vagabond. There is no chance for the Vaga other than running like a dog.
Both HACs are perfectly fine for the same fighting style, while the Vaga emphasizes sprinting ability over damage, and the Deimos the other way around.
Seriously, people need to adapt to the not so recent changes and stop trying to use the Deimos for point blank range, it has the falloff bonus for a reason. If you want a painfully slow ship with ****ty range, fly a Brutix and save some ISK.

The kiting shield Deimos has no neut (losing your HAC to the first competent Rifter you encounter is *fun*, amirite?) and a silly amount of its EHP is in armor and structure rather than shield. Signature removed. |

There is a reason why nano gangs remove tackle from the field first. I havent seen a rifter, interceptor or dramiel yet that didnt die in about 3 seconds when taken under fire from 3-4 HACs.
When flying solo, the extra drone capacity for ec-drones does just as good as a neut.
Besides you can actually fit a medium neut if you want, but imo not worth the sacrifice in mobility, range or damage you'd have to make.
A small neut that would fit isnt worth the implant slot for the pg-2, imo.

Your primary lifeline are scimitars, if they cant keep you repped it doesnt matter where the buffer is.
In a solo fight it doesnt matter either apart from the inconvenient delay when needing to rep up later, but waiting for a shield buffer to recharge isnt exactly instant.
The only difference it really makes is that you can run down your shields to 0% instead of 20% before its really time to leave.
