While EVE and it's background are entirely fictional, the new avatars seem resemble much more real world ethnicities, then the old system ever did.
For example the edged faces of Caldari-Civire look like slightly exaggerated german faces. On the Deteis, the faces also tell of a caucasian origin, while their eyes look as if there is some asian influence too. Of course Jin-Mei, Achura, Vherokior and Khanid look very asian, but I am not able to pinpoint them to any specific nation or region of asia.
Did anyone notice other similarities? |

yeah I really aprove of the asain bloodlines looking like real asains, and yet not so easy to pin down.
There was a video a while back where CCP showed how they did matt painting using photographs of people of two races to make one person with a unique race.
these were remember, real people so the result looks like a real person.
then they matched this to eve and here you go. muddy races that make since that they descended from earth 20,000 years ago. |

If I were to guess i would point Khanid to more northern Asian region like eastern Russia Mongolia. Caldari Achura I would say have more of a Russian heritage then an actual Asian heritage. Minmatar Vherokior resemble so heritages in Southern Asia (between Burma and Cambodia area). Gallente Jin-Mei i would put them around meh actually I'm not really what region they fallow the difference between the male and female is what really throws them off if anything i would say more middle eastern or northern Africa but still doesn't make complete sense...

Well, considering all of EVE bloodlines comes from Humans that entered the EVE gate and some kind of ealy segregation..
This is about right. |

I totally support being able to create blue freaks.
It only took us a few tens of thousands of years to diversify into the various races that are in existence today. EVE takes place over ten thousand years into the future, you would expect the races to be somewhat more unique than we have today.
Then we have the impact of cosmetic surgery which is seemingly limitless today. Different planetary environments. I image that there was changes in the future.
