I'm toying with the idea of using a NOS to fuel a stasis webber to slow down frigates so I can actually hit them.
Is the concept of using the webber on the mega pointless and I should just have the drones do it, or is using a webber a good idea?

why do you need a nos to run a webber? it has a tiny cap use on a bs. If u have a spare med slot a webber is always handy, esp if yr drone skills aren't great, you shouldn't need a nos to run it tho.

No trolling needed. There isn't "enough" time on the cap with the webber running to kill things so I felt a nos would help fund the cap power to fuel the webber. Its just an idea. Not something that needs OMG FAIL FIT!

errm there really shouldn't be a point where using a web makes or breaks your cap.... maybe post a fit?
or are you just being overly paranoid and being completely cap stable

I don't understand the question being asked here... as I see it there are two possible situations:
1. You're being neuted by something big and don't have cap. In this case having a web is meaningless since you shouldn't be shooting a frigate anyway...
2. A frig is orbiting you. It can't possibly impair your cap, so you web it and it dies.
In neither of these cases is a NOS useful. If you're so worried about cap, then get a cap booster.

Yes Paranoid would be a good way to describe it. I dont want to be caught in a situation where the tank fails because I ran out of time - or couldn't warp out.
Pretty simple really, Frigates orbit, can't get good tracking and I need to slow their role down. Trying to leverage the big guns in a fight where the drones may be gone or busy solving other issues.

I'm pretty sure that no matter how many webs you use, your battleship guns are never going to be effective against frigates... So it's a moot point.
Use smartbombs, drones or missiles.

Use drones to kill frigs, that is all. Never EVER use smartbombs in hisec, the chances of you getting yourself CONCORD'd will go up exponentially. The poxy single missile slot that a mega has is not worth the time or energy. Fit a DLA (drone link augmentor) and have your light drones engage the frigs at a greater distance to give them time to travel and hopefully pop before they reach you.
This way you can drop the NoS and drop the web.

A double webbed frig is easy meat for bs guns (1 volley except the interceptors), with a single web you will get some hits in, also with a single web drones will kill them much faster (unless you have already maxed drone skills i suppose). It will also make killing the occaissional close range bs a bit quicker too. Still chances are using a med slot just to kill frigs slightly faster will gimp your setup elsewhere, using a hi slot and a med slot to fit a web is clearly crazy. Really if you are using LR guns and the mission doesn't drop you in the middle of the rats then you should have alphad all the frigs as they mwd towards you at zero transversal anyway.
