Shadows on sisi are broken.
They look like this:

on max settings on Radeon HD4870, catalyst 10.10 and Windwows 7 64.

How do they look on TQ in the same situation? ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

The shadow maps on the stations needs to have a lot higher resolution.

Another funny shadow bug.
When you warp to a gate, the shadows seem to move along it as it figures out where they should be.
No it's not from me moving as i come out of warp. ------

One of my biggest pet peeves about the game is while the textures have been upgraded regularily, the shadows and models are still from 1995. More polygons and better mip-mapping, with shadows that look crisp as you get closer to a large object, softer as you're farther away.

Before apocrypha the shadows were perfect, after it they appear as horrible blocky messes that barely resemble the object they are casting from.

This. In apocrypha they have managed to destroy shadows and make them perform worse on same hardware at the same time. It's funny how in a single expansion they managed to destroy both sound and visual effects.
Warp sound? Gone. Warp effect? Ruined. Red/blue shift was added to trinity graphics, but on old client it looked better (and correct). Shield bubble? Gone. Current replacement is an atrocity compared. Sensor booster? Gone disco. Also my eyes are bleeding. ECCM? Gone disco too. One could argue that web effect looks better, but it is also less noticeable now. Shadows? It used to be possible to identify pretty much any ship by looking at it's shadow signature on a gate/station if it was behind your camera. Now? Well, your screens show it pretty well. Cyno effect? ARGHHHHH Engine trails have been gone since before apoc, but they should be brought back anyway.
I don't know what the hell happened but I still think it should be reverted. ---

Not only do the shadows look bad.. They also perform like crap in some missions and annomalies.
I just disable them. Never even notice that their gone.

they weren't so bad when they 1st came out : (
and then without even a patch note, or a dev statement, they just removed the settings for shadows.
WHY CCP WHY! WHY NOT EVEN TELL US YOUR DOING IT!
no but seriously, is it so hard to say even somethign as simple as, there is a bug, or, it effects performance to much? what happen? they looked ****ing amazing.

The shadows are 100% client side unless they were badly coded so my guess is that they broke somehow in apocrypha and they couldn't be bothered to fix them so they forced them to low settings, removed the option and pretended nothing changed, lack of dev response in threads like this seems to confirm it.
