Hi,
Some time ago I bought a considerable number of 425mm Prototype Gauss, the meta 4 version of the large hybrid gun.
Anyways, the time I bought them they were 12m each, and had very good margins transporting them to another region. Although it seems that someone, almost instantly, did a big market manipulation and the prices dropped, within a few hours, to half value, and then now they are only worth 2m each. So the situation is, that I'm sitting with items that have dropped massively in value.
Is it likely that I will see my isk back? :P

No. The drop rates changed on them. Plus they were being manipulated when they were 12m.
Sorry dude you've been stung by a crash. Sell up and get investing eslewhere.

Also consider with the Noctis, there will likely be more supply of loot unless the loot tables are changed. With the Noctis, I think we can expect some min prices to rise, but then fall. The rise on the demand for the new loot ship, and the fall because loot being collected faster.
I do not expect lots of Noctis to be destroyed as a percentage of total created. |

On the other side, pilots doing Incursion sites instead of missions will not get loot or salvage, the incursion ships will drop little. So that will reduce the supply of loot and salvage. It will be interesting to see which effect is larger: Noctis causing more salvaging, Incursion causing less....

That's a good point. But I'm going to bet on the Noctis unless the Incursion reward system is changed.

Something else to think about: CCP has promised "Meta-item indicator icons" in the first part of the Incursion release at the end of this month, according to the dev blog. This could mean that it'll be easier for people to pick out and set aside their meta-4 items to sell for profit.
That means fewer people will be (a) selling every item, and (b) reprocessing every item. Instead, they'll be selling meta-4 stuff and possibly reprocessing the rest. As a result, you may find that there are more meta-4 items on the market at lower prices. (And perhaps more meta-3 items trading at higher prices?)

The only Meta item icons I have seen on Sisi are green, and they are faction items. Maybe there is a purple for Officer, but then again maybe I dreamt that there were purple ones ... been playing too much the past few days I guess

I don't see how solace prices crashed, but CCP definitely changed something with the 1600mm plates. They crashed down from 4m to 3m in a quick fashion, while volume traded has even gone up.
Guess I gotta go haul my regional buy orders soon, before that MWD disaster happens on some other item.

Erm.... Was this serious?
Prices dropped BECAUSE volume went up. More available = more dumped = prices drop. The converse is also usually true; if volume on something goes down, you'll almost certainly see the price go up (or, if you assume demand is growing, if volume stays the same price will go up). *** Wish list for PI:
*One-click input routing *Copy product, inputs & outputs in factories *Launchpad upgrades: twice the space, twice the cost, half the hassle! |

"volume traded has even gone up" just means the number of realized trades (via buy and sell orders) has increased, it doesn't say whether that change is primarily due to supply or demand-side changes.
stop acting silly.

I have been trading META 4 for years. Then went inactive. Came back only to see META 4 market crash on some items.
Im still in process of gathering onformation, but corect me if Im wrong - all META 4 items have had their drop rate changed ?
Or did I just come to wrong conclusion ?
