Let's say I spend 5 months doing kill missions for Caldari State corps, I suppose I'll lose a load of standing towards Minmatar and Gallente. How do I counter this without losing standing with Caldari and Amarr?
I don't want to end up KOS in Gallente and Minmatar -space.
How much Negative standing can I have to a faction before they start shooting at me when I enter their space?
OR is it only my security status hat decide wether the Police will shoot me down on sight?

You have to do missions for both factions so that they stay in equilibrium, and avoid doing missions where you have to kill empire faction ships (as that will lose you a lot of standing).

3) Yes. It won't be CONCORD that'll fire upon you due to your low standing towards a faction, it'll be the factionships

I actually never lost any standing towards Amarr or Ammatar for killing their ships. It¦s all about derived modification: Doing an important mission for the Minmatar Faction will result in a standing loss towards Amarr, Ammatar, Caldari, ...
I¦m now at -4.84 towards the Ammatar and stopped doing important/storyline missions. I destroyed a lot of faction ships since then, in standard missions. My standing didn¦t drop any further.

Ok thanks all, I'll go visit some minmatar agents today and see if I can keep a good standing towards caldari while also being friend with Gallente and Minmatar.

well considering important missions with big faction standings are basicly gone now.... i haven't had a single increase in my standings with the gallente.

they are not gone just severly bugged. STORYLINE ARE IMPORTANTS. see all the stickies on them.
New name new format. like it or not that's what they are and yes they still give you great faction jumps both good and bad. EVE'rything is bugged in regard to storyline impotants..... that is the way they are going to be like it or not. faction standings should require more effort IMO as they allow you access to all agents to that race with high enough race faction.
Having high race faction and access to all agents for an entire race should be an earned "privaledge" for running missions for that race.
The only way to really counter them without causing harm elsewhere is to run missions with "The Interbus"
The impotant/storyline missions from interbus give you standing increase to all race factions. so it will increase your desired race as well as the one your trying to repair a bit.
if you got negative standing with any race.....it will be very very hard to find any worth while agent to run with to repair it.
EXCEPT..... the storylines are bugged so bad for interbus that they are removed completely from tranquility till it's fixed.
Unfortunately there is no good safe way at the moment except to not do any storylines if your worried about the increases. simply delete the mail from your file and think it never existed.
Once they have made enough fixes to make it a wort while patch then they will do so.
On a good note however.........didn't they have extended downtime yesterday for database clean up.
that usually means the patch is coming next tuesday.
and if they patching next tuesday and mission layout is completely fubared and they know this........ safe to assume there are some mission fixes in that patch.
It's an unfotunate time if your in process of manipulating your standings. We'll simply have to wait for the patches.....it's a bummer.
my gallente is approaching that -5.0 and nothing i can do. not gonna pass up my main faction storylines cuz of it tho.
training various social skills can ease that preassure a bit.
