So, I was out in my hurricane yesterday and I had 5 800mm Rolled Tungsten Plates, 2 Defender launchers and six Medium autocannons. I tried to take on a Jaguar, and I wqas wondering something:
Are Tech 2 frigates and cruisers able to down any sort of Tech 1 ships short of a Battleship, one on one? Or does my fitting just blow?

Edited by: Alara IonStorm on 24/11/2010 07:45:24 It blows, you haven't covered your resist holes or boosted your gank. As for missiles let your drones handle frigs and your Nuets turn off there props and tackle.
Armor Can
6x 220mm/425mm (Depends on your fitting skills) 2x Medium Energy Neutralizers(with 425mm you will nedd to downgrade a Neut)
1-2x Stasis Webers 0-1x Tracking Computer/Sebo 1x Warp Disruptor 1x Micro Warp Drive
1x Damage Control 1x 1600mm Plate 2x Energized Nano Adaptive Membrain 2x Gyrostabalizers
3x Trimark Armor Pumps
6x Warrior II
Sheild Cane
6x 425mm Autocannons 2x Medium Energy Neutralizers
1-2x Large Sheild Extenders 0-1x Inuvunfeild 1x Warp Disruptor 1x Micro Warp Drive
1x Damage Control 2-3x Gyrostabalizers 0-2x Nanofiber Internal Structure 1-2x Tracking Enhancers
0-1x EM Sheild Rig(Used on Duel Ext Version) 2-3x Core Defence Sheild Extender
6x Warrior II
There are plenty of different fits depending on where your fitting skills are at and what job you want to acomplish. these are very standard autocannon fits with a bit of customization to tailor your needs.
I suggest you look up what each of these modules is and what they do, then build your cane fit to suit your tasks.

Depends on several factors such as:
* Which T2 Ship * What the Target is * How you are fit * How they are fit * Skill of who is piloting it
But yes a lot of Tech 2 Ships are absolutely brilient at taking down T1 ships that are bigger then them.(That includes Battleships)

He's not trolling. The kill mail actually exists. He also has genuine threads asking about PvP.
To OP: You should check out popular loads outs of the ship you want to fly on eve battle clinic (simple google will get you there). Generally people will comment and rate so you can get a good idea of what works and what doesn't. If you just take a while to research your ship and the different load outs people propose (also try and figure out why they used X mod, and what X mod actually does). I found this to be a great learning experience personally.

In theory the jaguar for example could kill every ship up to bs, obviously that relies on lots of factors.
Hurricanes are probably one of the better ships for killing frigates though, especially the armor cane. Just fit two neuts and two webs and that frig will die fast

This man speaks truth.
Neuts and warrior IIs are essential in larger ships for at least deterring tacklers if not killing them.
A dual web AC hurricane is also extremely sexy. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

PvP-cane should look something like this:
[Hurricane, Hurricane example] Damage Control II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Gyrostabilizer II Gyrostabilizer II 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I
Warp Scrambler II 10MN MicroWarpdrive I X5 Prototype I Engine Enervator Tracking Computer II
Medium Energy Neutralizer II 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M 220mm Vulcan AutoCannon II, EMP M Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Medium Projectile Collision Accelerator I Medium Trimark Armor Pump I Medium Trimark Armor Pump I
Warrior II x2 Hammerhead II x2
Honestly 5 800mm Rolls makes your Cane about as agile as a bloated turtle and Jag is one the most nimble frigs out there.

Edited by: KushHaze on 25/11/2010 20:19:27 Yeah probably one of the worst fits I'v ever seen for a cane tbh, but thats not a knock at you we all have to learn at some point since most of us didnt come into this game knowing instantly how to fit ships. Just a word of advice , defender missles are totally and completely useless in pvp so never take them, you will be better off fitting neuts or HAM's (I personaly prefer nuets for frig defense and some warrior II's) in your highs and when you get the sp and the skills if your not solo your gonna want to throw a warfare link mod in one high and get hugs from your fleet mates. Improve your fit mate.
When fighting AF's you should consider fitting neutralizers to disable their ab's, it will improve your dps alot. Webifier, Light drones and target painter will also help.
A Hurricane should be able to handle 2-3 Af's, unless their specifically fit to kill your ship.
