Hey all,
I'm trying to take level III missions from an agent... however she refuses to talk to me even though I have enough standing with her corp. Shes Internal security, not storyline...
Does anyone know why? :( |

What are your current standings with her corp, and what are her requirements? Sometimes you need to get a couple points OVER the reqs due to rounding errors.
Also, what are your current standings with her corp's faction (Caldari/Gallente/Minmatar/Amarr)? If you're under -2.0 with the empire faction, it disables all agents except L1's, regardless of corp standings, I think. |

Its republic fleet - she needs 3.1, I've got 3.2 now with her corp.
I'm Minmitar Militia and through that I've gotten 2.6ish Minmitar faction standings... so I don't think thats a problem... and my corp has awesome standings to her, her corp and the faction.
Confusing...

No clue, then; petition it, maybe she's bugged and the GM's can fix her.

Try to get a few more points over her requirement. I've had the problem several times and I don't know if the agent is bugged or if it's just a rounding error somewhere in the software, but it has always worked for me once I got a few more points of standings.

If you JUST obtained the necessary standings, a logoff and relogin is usually required due to caching issues. If that's not it... well... let's hope that's it for now. _

Social does not increase your standings. It increases your standings gains. You need Connections to increase your standings with friendly NPC's, or Diplomacy to increase standings with hostile NPC's.
As others have noted, you will need to logon on again after you gain the standings before the agent will give you a mission.

this happened to me, recently. i had to logout and log back in for the new standings to be recognized by the agents.
it was tripping me out too because the agents were listed under the Available Agents section, but when i talked to them they would say i need to build up my standing.

Yep. I've had the same thing happen to me.
I can't remember if logging in and out worked for me but that is certainly worth a try.
I just kept doing missions for the agent I'd been doing them for - and eventually the higher agent would talk to me.
Personally - I think it is BUG.
*shrug*
And again - yes - Connections is the one that increases your standings with individual friendly agents from your base standings. Diplomacy does the same thing for hostile agents. Thus - if you have a positive base relationship with an agent - no matter how small - Connections helps with that. If you have a negative base relationship with an agent - Diplomacy helps with that.
Also - Negotiations - increases the amount you get for each mission.
So - the one basic ones you want are: Social, Negotiations, Connections and Diplomacy. The other social skills are expensive and highly focused in their effect.

There are 3 different standings related to agents and mission running, from highest to lowest importance, faction, corp, agent. Didnt read teh whole thread, but all the standings answeres are available, and standings are the 'game within the game' for mission runners.
You should be able to pull up an agents info by his/her name, and check which standing you need to increase to run their missions.
Hope this helps.

Did you just join the militia? You need to wait until the next downtime before you can actually do the faction warfare missions, try again tomorrow. You'll get an ingame email saying when you can start. |

It wasn't faction warfare missions or anything like that, it was simply the fact that a relog (Or servre DT?) was required seemingly. Its fixed now, thanks all for your advice though! I'll try relogging in future if I have an issue before asking on the forum :p

Everytime I get a new agent, I have had to log off and on. I thought was normal.

after 2 weeks and about 500 level 1 missions (5-10 minutes each) and getting my standing to 2.80 the level 2 agent i wanted still wouldent talk to me, she poped up at 2.81, even then wouldent talk to me - i had to relog for her to talk :\
at lest it only took 1 day to get 3.15 for level 3 agent.
