Hi all, I've been using MyPOS for probably a couple years and I find it lacking in some features that I might like... what are the cool kids using for planning their POS configurations these days? Have I missed out on any good new tools, either online or offline?

This. The IGB is the easiest one to use in-game during the initial setup. If you're not going to be onlining and offlining modules all the time, it's the only one you need. The IGB pos planner is Chrome, EveHQ is firefox, and MyPOS is internet explorer. Seriously MyPOS is just messy, bloated code. I also use a spreadsheet to calculate DPS and alpha of the guns as I haven't found another program that incorporates this.

The big problem with the IGB one is that you can't select POS modules and then see how they fit on different types of POS. You have to choose the tower first, and you're stuck with the choice.
MyPOS allows you to do that. One thing it doesn't do very well is show you how much time it'll take to online/offline, and its fuel calculations are wrong (they still use the old sovereignty regime).
I'll give EVEHQ a try.

Well you're always going to be using 1 of 3 POS's. Amarr or Minmatar for defense-based, (and unless you really need the grid, Minmatar for its resist profile) and Caldari for research/production. I don't think I've ever based a POS around modules, simply if I need more PG or more CPU.
