I know a bit about the null sec politics and what is going on to some sort of level but i'm really curious about FW and what goes on with it. Is it popular? Who are the main corps? What's the politics about? Do Gallente/Matari and Caldari/Amarr corps work together? Has there been any significant change to the map based on FW? What are the main trade hubs? |

The extent of politics for at least the cal/gal front is "Jump into us!", "NO YOU". Or my personal favorite "LOLUBLOBBERS" as each side calls eachother.
Two main gallente corps: QCats, SOTF
Caldari Corps, Well if any corp becomes "dominant" it soon either leaves caldari FW or failcascades due to drama.
There has been co-operation between militias in the past, and will be in the future but its not a regular occurance, at least in the day by day goes, as most of the time by the time a militia makes the trip to another space, the fight/op is over and they immediately have to turn around and go back home.
Maps are generally static, with most of the occupancy being the same as the sovreignty due to the way most mechanics work (it is must easier to defend your own sovriegn system than to attack anothers sovreign system to occupy it). The amarr recently made a push to liberate one of their sovreign regions. |

Good day Seraph IX Basarab:
http://www.factionalwarfare.info/812/minmatar-faction-warfare-getting-to-know-player-run-corporations/ -- please note not all corporations responded to my survey; and there have been changes since that article was written a few months back.
http://www.factionalwarfare.info/1435/getting-to-know-amarr-militia/ - obviously from the Minmatar point of view.
Sometimes the militia's corporate together; it really depends on the location, need, and whether the other side happens to be near the area with the ships needed.
For the Minmatar Militia, Rens is the local trade hub (though what out for Pandemic Legion as they moved into Amamake); and I think Amarr for the Amarrian's (but don't quote me on that one).
Thank you.

just to respond to the blobbing comments.
There are lots of opportunities for solo/small fleet fights in faction warfare, be it by roaming and picking your fights carefully or using the plex mechanic to force a "fair" fight. Also we've got quite a few pirates in essence who travel in solo/small gangs and won't blob up on you.
Also for the most part gallente corps get along and you can always get a small roam together outside of corp if need be.
I'd recommend it.
1 advantage of FW, no real commitment to try it out. You don't have to worry about the logistics of moving your assets to 0.0. Just park your crap in .5 system near your corps low sec hub and try it out. if you like it, you can move your crap in. If the corp falls apart... gettting your stuff out is very easy.
Also.. if you have access to a jump frieghter alt/corp mates alt... your home is always within 1 jump distance of the trade hubs. |

The militia are just that...Militia-A military force of civilians to supplement a regular army in an emergency.
The militias are really a loose collection of corporations that tend to all do their own thing. Sometimes they like each other and are BFFs and sometimes they don't and space laz0rs light up the sky!
The4 are currently the "Biggest" CalMil corp, whatever that means to you. Just go look at the top monthly killers and you will get a general idea of who the "biggest & most active" corps are, but that doesn't really matter all too much.
Relations are relatively friendly between most of the militia (barring all the bad apples that love to chat in local and on the forums). I view it as generally consensual PvP. You are in militia to pew pew, even though sometimes you forget that (usually after losing your 3rd BC of the day)
We blob when we can, they blob when they can. There are some great fights and there is a lot of dancing around each other looking for an advantage.
If you are interested in politics look more to Null Sec...the reason a lot of us are in militia is we like the pew pew and not the drama 9Though somehow people always manage to find that drama :P )
P.S. CalMil definitely has the most Carebears. I don't know how many members EVE says CalMil has but practically it's only about 250 people spread across all TZs, no more than really 20-30 active pvp people at any given time. |
