if i'm doing a t2 ship invention...
does it matter whether it is a 1 run copy, or a 10 run copy?
will they both produce a 1 run t2 bpc...? (if successful)
is there some probability factor or something that is effected on the original t1 bpc used... 1run vs 10run
can't seem to find details for this, any help advice would be grateful. |

Correct a 1 and max run ship BPC will both only produce a 1 run BPC. Full run BPCs for ship are usually only needed for use with output run boosting decryptors, and even then it's not always the case. Input BPC runs doesn't effect invention chance at all, only output runs.

In ship (and rig) invention, ONLY when using decryptors that boost number of runs (one of them doesn't, the rest do), using a max-run T1 BPC will yield one additional run. If that T1 BPC is even one run short of maxrun, you don't get that extra run on the T2 BPC.
P.S. Maxrun for T1 BPCs: * frigates - 30 * destroyers - 20 * cruisers, industrials and battlecruisers - 15 * battleships and mining barges - 10 * freighters - 1 (that means all freighter BPCs are max-run BPCs)

thank you both. :) |

Decryptors are often used for increasing runs for invention on hac's, command, recon, black op Bs, Maruaders etc on max run BPC.
The smaller ship class's like intie, AF, electronic do da frigs, interidctors etc just as as easy to bosh a load of single run bpc's out for these, ya not really saving a great deal by using decryptors on these type.

For example:
Inventing a vexor BPC with 1-run yields a 1-run ishtar BPC (-4ME). Inventing a vexor BPC with 15-runs yields a 1-run ishtar BPC (-4ME).
Inventing a vexor BPC with 1-run using an Engagement Plan yields a 2-run ishtar BPC (-3ME). Inventing a vexor BPC with 15-runs using an Engagement Plan yields a 3-run ishtar BPC (-3ME)

All non-decryptor ship invention creates a 1-run copy if successful. Decryptors that boost the total production run boost it regardless of the original run count. ME/PE on the BPO do not affect the T2 BPC at all. Decryptors that affect ME/PE do so on the BASE values of the BPO (not the researched values).
For a list of decryptors and their effects, check out the EVE-Invention table.
