About concord, won't they attack sansha during an incursion? i realise there only for capsuleers but arn't true slaves capsuleers as well? Sansha ones yes but capsuleers all the same? if concord don't help out then isn't that imersion breaking, and a breach of concord contract and rules? From the stories perspececitve, what's stoping concord from acting, has it been said? |

Sansha and Concord go to the same book club, to stop there being any friction within said book club they've decided not to war each other, EVER, and thus concord has relied upon capsuleers to stop the spread of Sansha.
As to a real reason - I have no idea. I want to say it's because Concord are too weak for Sansha (but I've seen them insta pop some capsuleers before and well, it would only take a few of those guys to deal with Sansha and we wouldn't even know about it). The only thing I can suggest is numbers, perhaps concord are stretched too thin covering all of high sec and couldn't defeat Sansha and keep high sec covered at the same time. Maybe it's political? If Concord are seen to help out a specific faction against Sansha incursion it could be called favouritism and see some instability between concord and faction nations?
Or it could just be they're too lazy. Who knows, there is probably a reason written somewhere lol

It's all one big conspiracy theory against capsuleers. CONCORD is involved too (why do you think they are so trigger happy when you give them a chance to blow you up anyway)

Someone asked this question in the help channel, and an ISD replied with something like this: Along with capsuleer technology, the Jovians gave CONCORD weaponry specifically designed to counter capsuleer systems. Against non-capsuleers, CONCORD are quite defenseless. This also explains why there are so many rats everywhere, and CONCORD don't just OMGWTFBBQPWN them the second they appear.
The answer to every plot-hole is "The Jovians!"

That doesn't agree with the backstory and everything else we know about CONCORD. Just to quote the wiki: Quote: One of the largest and most powerful branches of CONCORD is the Directive Enforcement Department (DED). DED is the police force of CONCORD and is by far the strongest armed force in the world of EVE that doesnÆt pledge fealty to any one empire.

Well, obviously CONCORD doesn't do all the work for game design reasons...which is a difficult thing to justify in storyline terms. There are any number of creative explanations available, some of which we do entertain, but at the end of the day this is the sort of thing you might want want to lump into the same group as respawning asteroids, one hour out of each day randomly disappearing, and godlike police agents that can appear instantly anywhere in high-sec and one-shot titans.
All that aside, CONCORD are fighting the Sansha, just not in a head-to-head way. Instead, they're running surveillance on them, and using intelligence and newly-established systems (come Incursion) to rally capsuleers. You guys are Nation's biggest threat (and Nation's target right now too, for the same reason ) - so prepping you to do all the heavy lifting makes a certain sort of sense.
You can learn more about Operation Ishaeka here, and you might notice on SISI that all of the briefings, NPC profiles etc that come with Incursion are also Ishaeka documents. These are all designed to arm the capsuleers with information.

CONCORD is bound by charter from participating in inter-empire conflicts, isn't it? Sansha's nation is, well, a nation. That'd put it outside of CONCORD's jurisdiction, yeah?
I'd wager that it's not so much that they can't help as that they won't. You don't see CONCORD running off non-capsuleer pirates either. ---

Uh, they actually intervene with interempire stuff if I remember correctly. Im sure there are some trailers from empyeran age that show concord standing off with joint mimatar republic fleet a thukker tribe vessels.

That was because said Elder fleet was threatening a CONCORD station. And not just any station. Their headquarters in Yulai.
I'm sure their charter says that they can defend their own space in Genesis.

Edited by: Learol on 30/11/2010 13:03:21 I do believe Concord was created to deal with issues relating to the capsuleer population. Was it not?
Sansha ships, being piloted by standard crews, mean that Concord are not really obligated to do anything about them.
*Edit (that doesn't mean they don't care, or can't respond, they just can't be bothered to take time away from their current duties at the moment, far easier to pay us to do the work for them) |

I've said this before:
CONCORD's mandate, essentially, is to protect Empire space from us (capsuleers), not to protect the empires from each other (which would put an end to Faction War completely) and not from pirates (no moar ratting or missions). --Vel
