EVE FanFest 2011 (FF2011) Icelandair Travel FAQ
Last update: 30th November, 2010.
Q: Why is there another FAQ about the FF2011? A: This FAQ is about the Icelandair packages that CCP have managed to negotiate for us Pod Pilots and long suffering other halves. I found that the CCP FF2011 site is short on detail and was not updated regularly enough.
Q: What happens if something is wrong with this FAQ? A: don't shoot me! (in or out of game) EVEmail me or post something to this thread.
Q: When were these 'travel packages' released? A: Not sure when they were released, but the first indicator that I've seen is 26th November.
Q: Where can I find these 'travel packages'? A1: Short answer: www.icelandair.co.uk. A2: Long answer: www.icelandair.co.uk. On the right-hand side you will see a list of flight destinations; click on the country/airport you are starting from. When the new page has loaded you will see a button in the top left hand corner labelled 'Packages & Offers', click it. When the new page has loaded you will see a bunch of rather large buttons at the bottom of the page, one is called 'Events', click it. The new page will give you one or more options, click the obvious one, this is the start of the booking process.
NOTE 1: Icelandair lists the US airports individually NOTE 2: Icelandair does NOT list the UK airports individually (see list below). You have to enter the booking process to see all available UK airports. NOTE 3: Not all airports that Icelandair flies to/from offer this package (see list below).
Q: What airports does Icelandair offer these packages from? United Kingdom: London Heathrow (LHR). United Kingdom: Manchester International (MAN). United Kingdom: Glasgow (GLA). Denmark: Copenhagen (CPH). France: Paris (CDG) booking form not working, (CCP Please give Icelandair a kick about this). Germany: Frankfurt (FRA). The Netherlands: Schiphol (Amsterdam) (AMS). Norway: Oslo (OSL). Sweden: Stockholm (ARN). US: Boston (BOS), US: Minneapolis/T. Paul (MSP), US: New York û JFK (JFK). US: Orlando û sanford (SFB), US: Seattle, US: Washington-DC (IAD). Canada: Halifax (YHZ), Canada: Toronto (YTO).
Icelandair does NOT offer the FF2011 packages from the following countries: Belgium, Czech Republic, Finland, Italy, Spain, Poland.
Q: What is contained in the basic FF2011 package from Icelandair? A: (1)A return flight to Iceland and (2)a standard FF2011 ticket. All taxes and other hidden charges are included, credit card booking fee is extra.

Edited by: Tedric on 30/11/2010 22:16:25 Part 2 of 4 Q: I see a different selection of hotels listed depending on which country's Icelandair site I use. What gives? A: It looks like CCP are trying to distribute the hotel load. For those Corporation and Alliances who are wanting to drop SBUs in the bar, please take note!!
www.icelandair.co.uk offers:
US based Icelandair web sites:
Non English Language offers:
Q: These hotel prices are ridiculously low for Iceland? What gives? A: My guess is that CCP chose the quietest weekend to hold FF2011, got a group of hotels together and asked them, 'want to make some easy money in the quiet season? Nudge, nudge, wink wink.'
What is not clear from the available information is what is defined as breakfast. Is it a Continental breakfast, buffet, full-english, rotten sharks fins, etc.?
These prices are typically 1/3 to 1/4 of the seasonally adjusted prices.
Q: Sisters of EVE and travel packages from Icelandair, what gives? A: The Icelandair package only caters for the normal FF2011 ticket. To get a Sisters of EVE ticket, buy a basic package (which includes a normal ticket). Then when you register at FF2011 (walk through the front door), cough up another 101USD to upgrade it to the Sisters of EVE FF2011 ticket. This question, strangely enough, is answered on the Icelandair web site, not the CCP FF2011 site. The Icelandair travel package gives the following paragraph on the first page of the booking process:
"Spouse tickets û Sisters of EVE: You can trade your Icelandair included Fanfest ticket for a [url= "http://fanfest.eveonline.com/en/events/sisters |

Part 3 of 4
Q: What are the other options available that I can add to the basic Icelandair package? A: The options can be divided into 3 categories: (1)Airport to Hotel transport, (2)CCP specific (read: subsidised), (3)Iceland tourism stuff.
All prices are in Sterling and are correct as of 29th November. Prices will probably change with currency fluctuations. All prices are per person, per trip. For more details, click through the appropriate links on the web site.
Be warned that the browser session that the Icelandair site runs in has a tendency to crash when poking around the options.
If you want more detailed descriptions, dig around on the Iceland tourism sites some of which are listed below. The items listed in the Icelandair package is a small selection of what is on offer. For more idea, poke around the Iceland tourism sites.
(1) Airport and Hotel: FB-21 Flybus PLUS/Transfer û Arrival: (ú15) Transport Keflavik to one of the hotels listed in the Icelandair package.
FB-21 Flybus PLUS/Transfer û Departure: (ú15) Transport from one of the hotels listed in the Icelandair package to Keflavik.
NOTE: Apparently, this bus trip is anywhere between 50 and 75 minute journey!
(2) CCP specific: Golden circle û EVEFanfest2011 Wednesday March 23rd. (ú20) Go see some of the sites. Not sure which sites we will be seeing. Itinerary anyone?
Blue Lagoon Hangover û EVEFanfest2011 Sunday March 27th: (ú40) Go soak away your hangover.
(3) Iceland Tourism: NOTE: some of the stuff listed here is seasonal.
Blue Lagoon Express, daily, hourly. (ú44) Go soak in some awesome hot springs.
RE05 Reykjavik city Grand Excursion, daily. (ú27) Bus and foot introduction to Reykjavik.
RE04 Golden Circle Tour, daily. (ú55) Visit Gullfoss waterfall, Geysir the geothermal hot spring area and Thingvellir National Park.
RE15 South Shore Adventure. (ú85) Travel along the South coast of Iceland and enjoy waterfalls, black beaches and glaciers.
RE24 Gullfoss & Geysir Direct. (ú50). Escorted Coach Trip. Gullfoss Geysir Direct takes you to see the world-famous Geysir geothermal field and Gullfoss, the queen of Icelandic waterfalls.
Walk on ice side. (ú99) A sightseeing and hiking trip. Learn to use crampons to walk on the Ice. Explore the wonderland of the Solheimajokull Glacier with its ice sculptures, ridges and crevasses.
Walk through fire and ice. (ú129) Includes: Transport, guiding, glacier gear and safety equipment. 4 - 5 hours hike.
Q: Can I buy just the 'Fan Fest tickets'? A: Yes. But not yet. CCP have not make them available to us. They are currently using their semi-trademarked 'soon(tm)' in the top right hand corner of the FF2011 web site.
When CCP makes them available you can buy them through Account Management area on the EVE-Online website. No date has yet been given when they will be made available.
As far as I'm aware, you can only buy the FF2011 tickets through Account Management on the EVE-Online web site and the Icelandair packages. Any other sources of FF2011 tickets should be treated with suspicion until confirmed by CCP as being a legitimate source.
Q: Where are all the optional extras mentioned in the CCP Fanfest site? A1: See above. A2: Looking outside of the Icelandair package options will give you more options. Take a look at the Icelandic Tourism board web sites for more details and ideas. Some relevant sites are listed here:

Part 4 of 4
Q: The Icelandair website booking process keeps crashing... A: If you poke around long enough in the optional extras section on the Icelandair packages web site, the session will crash on you. You will then have to restart the process. Use Notepad, make notes.
Q: Any cost saving tips? A1: The hotel packages through Icelandair are just ridiculously cheap! As far as I can tell, they are about + to 1/3 of the seasonally adjusted price. A2: The basic Icelandair package (flight + ticket) from London-Reykjavik is at the very least ú30 cheaper than the non-package (flight + ticket) method. Flights from other airports should be about the same. A3: Don't drink (as if....). A4: Suggestions from past FanFest attendees would be good here. Hint, hint!
Q: Any other questions? A: Tell me about them. I will see what I can find out.

IcelandAir's winter timetable doesn't show anything departing out of Minneapolis-Saint Paul (MSP) at all. The Fanfest packages don't show any departures out of MSP either.
This makes me a sad smurf.

I have just looked at a flight from London to iceland and quotes me ú200 return, thats ú69 cheaper than the Flight + entrance.??? You can get the entrance fee with some plex i heard. However the Hotels are cheaper booked as a package with the flight etc....
Problem i saw was the distance from the Hotels to the main area???? I had been looking at the Hilton and it seems the same distance from the centre and it is from the airport. So if thats correct its a 70 min drive into the centre???? Maybe thats why the Hotels are cheap

You can get the entrance fee with some plex i heard. OK i have edited this . Package is ú489 thats a 5 night stay. I can book flight at ú200, and then the same Hilton Hotel, but with a Double room NOT a single for ú281 for the 5 nights. so if i book it myself i get it all for ú481, with a bigger room , but NO entrance fee. I thought we may have had a bigger saving as you suggested from the UK but obviously not
If you book the flights outside the FanFest package the cost depends which set of flights you get. The difference between the early bird flight return from Iceland and the later one is about ú40. Within the FanFest offers, they all cost the same.
You are right in saying that the saving are minimal if at all. BUT the huge savings come when booking the hotels within the FanFest packages. Take a look at the cost of booking a hotel outside of the FanFest packages.

face here. When i compiled this FAQ originally, both Manchester and Glasgow listed a very limited set of flights, as did most of the US and all the Canadian airports. You can still book flights from these airports, but not within the FanFest offers.
Someone at Icelandair has been tinkering with stuff... They still have not fixed the French booking form .

No idea! Another good question for the FAQ.
CCP? You got an answer for this one? If you book your tickets through Icelandair how do we get our names on the tickets. Infact, how does it work for the Sisters of EVE (read: wife).

There are flights from Glasgow and Manchester, but only if you choose the 5 day option. Confused me too for a while.

Have been there last year and the year before and it was like this: The person whoose name is on the booking goes to ticket desk at fanfest, shows ID/Passport and gets all the tickets reserved on that name. There are no names printed on the tickets themselves, you have to "fill them out" on your own. There are fields for real name and character name

Blue Lagoon Hangover û EVEFanfest2011 Sunday March 27th: (ú40) Go soak away your hangover.
Don't have a definitive itinerary for golden circle tour, but visiting the geysirs ("Geysir" is active and erupts every few minutes, "Strokkur" has been inactive for decades, basically just a big hole with some sulfur smoke coming out ) and the waterfall "Gulfoss" (pretty impressive) should definately be included. Not sure about this national park Thingvellir, haven't been there yet either. ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Circle_%28Iceland%29 )
Golden circle tour and blue lagoon hangover party are not bookable from German Icelandair website by the way. I hope i can get tickets for hangover party at Fanfest...
Well, I didn't book the Fanfest package anyways but took another special offer from German Icelandair website instead ("299 Superdeal", which also offers Park Inn hotel and might even be a bit cheaper than Fanfest packages)
Which brings me to my second quote:
Originally by: Tedric What is not clear from the available information is what is defined as breakfast. Is it a Continental breakfast, buffet, full-english, rotten sharks fins, etc.?
I can only speak for Park Inn hotel for the last two years: They had a full breakfast buffet with everything you can ask for: coffee, tea, milk, fruit juices, toastbread, some sweet bakery, bacon, scrambled eggs, slices of cheese and meat, vegetables and fruits, yogurt, cereals, ... And it was open till 10am. (not sure if it will be the same in March, since last two years Fanfest was in October)

Various things i just remembered that might be useful:
Car rental I rented cars from Budget and Sixt the last two years: At Budget, I rented a 4x4 twice (2008 and 2009). Once pickup at airport (Keflavik), dropoff at Reykjavik and once the other way around. Didn't have any problems. Washing before dropoff is not needed, but fuel should be full (otherwise you have to pay some fee for refilling) Budget location at airport is right in the arrival hall, cars parked on big parking space just outside. Budget location in Reykjavik is close to the domestic airport in Reykjavik, at the bus terminal (where all the bus tours start). You can go from/to there by taxi or by foot. Reykjavik is not as that big after all.
At Sixt, I rented a smaller car in 2009. Pickup at airport, dropoff in Reykjavik. Location at airport is a bit further "in the back" of the airport, but the Sixt employees waiting for you drive you there. Location in Reykjavik is close to main road but quite a bit away from city center. There's a bus station not that far away, but after dropping off the car, the guy from Sixt asked me where i need to go and gave me a ride back to the hotel. (A service they offer all the time, since their place is a bit further away).
GPS navigation: I definately recommend including a GPS device in your car rental (except if you already have one). They are not as that expensive and the GPS maps of Iceland are exact down to the tinyest dried-out riverbed you don't even notice when driving by, but it's on the map
Speed cameras: Yes, Iceland has quite some of those, even on the roads out in nowhere. Don't drive too fast, especially not in the tunnel undercrossing part of the sea, between Reykjavik and Akranes (there are smth like two speedcameras for each direction inside the tunnel). Also, you have to pay for using this tunnel. (there are two lanes when exiting the tunnel: one for registered cars, where a picture of the number plate is taken automatically and one for other cars with some guy in a cabin, collecting money. I took the "picture" lane last year by accident but never heard anything from car rental afterwards )
"So they actually have roads there?" Yes, they do. All of Reykjavik and the other bigger cities have nice, tarred roads. Also, the main road (road nr. 1) around Iceland is tarred for most parts from what I saw and read. If you plan to take some of the smaller dirt-roads to see some of the amazing landscape there, a 4x4 car is pretty much a must, since most car rentals don't cover any damage from small stones, etc... for non-4x4-cars.
One note about a traffic rule in Iceland (which was new to me, as a swiss person): When turning left on a crossing with light signals, the cars coming towards you might have green as well, and you need to check before crossing their way...
Weather The weather in iceland is bound to a timer that randomizes it every 5-15 minutes or so. You might have read it somewhere and it's really true. You can drive from Reykjavik to Stykkisholmur (~170km) and encounter every possible weather situation from sunshine to snow to rain to storm several times on the way.
Mh, for the moment, that's it. I might add some more info some time later

I also haven't found out where else to book the Golden Circle Express/Blue Lagoon Hangover Party. I guess the Hangover Party should still be bookable during Fanfest, but since Golden Circle tour is before Fanfest, would be nice where to get the tickets in advance. I will send an Email to CCP asking about this and let you know
About other options for booking a longer stay: You can easily book the flight at Icelandair website and the hotel seperately at the hotel websites. It will not get as cheap as the package, but pretty close (I booked the "299 Superdeal" for 7 days at Park Inn hotel, which was 918 euros (without fanfest tickets). When booking flight and hotel (*) seperately, it would be 950 euros, so not that much of a difference)
*) There's an "early booking" offer at Park Inn hotel which is 60 euros per night for 2 people in a double room. It's non-refundable tough.

This is a nightmare for Canadians. Have to book extra flights to Toronto or Halifax (~400$) plus the ticket to Iceland (900$) and then we need to BUY our tickets to FF2011 AND our hotels which is another 650 to 800$. This is not including food and drinks.
Why does the rest of the world get hotel and airfare for under 1200 and we get it for 2000$ CCP?!
I was planning on coming if it hit under 1600. I'm not coming, this isn't worth my money sorry.

Question regarding Sunday's Blue Lagoon Hangover event:
It is showing that they are picking people up at 10:30am (to go to the Blue Lagoon) and picking them back up a mere three hours later at 14:00.
Will there be more pickups or does CCP have the place set aside for a mere three hours?
Looking forward to hanging out in the geothermal salt water spa while have one of CCP's DJ's spinning tunes.

Well, the way I read it is that that the company who is providing the deal will turn up with a bunch of coaches to take our pickled heads to a hot place to soak them in. So, one pickup time, lots of coaches. The down side, is that there may be a limit to available seats. I'm not sure the venue can survive about 3k people decending on them in one go.
What CCP have done for us is to negotiate us a slightly lower tariff on a standard offer. Nothing more (that I can tell).
I'm not sure about you, but 2 hours in a hot spring is enough to make me roll around in the snow to reduce my core temperature. But I agree, 3H is a little on the short side to veg out somewhere warm.
CCP, any comment?

Tedric.
Yep, with how-ever many people all descending (at the same time) upon the venue with the turn-around time being less then three hours (not counting time used in changing into swim suits, waiting for transport, length of time getting to the spa, standing around in line, etc.) how time the average joe will have time to soak one's noggin' and/or use the facilities.
The wife put forth the question to me as I'm thinking she may want to see about using their other spa services (if they will be available and we have enough time). Otherwise she is thinking we may want to spend some extra time (a different day) at the spa. (Then again I may be over-thinking it on time needed/wanted at the spa.)

Greetings Fanfest Attendees!
We are aware of the issues with some of the Icelandair packages and are working with them and will try to solve these issues as soon as possible.
- Make France package available
- Add special CCP trips to Germany and Netherlands packages
- The reason Canadian packages from Icelandair only fly via America is because Icelandair is simply not flying from Canada during this time according to them.
Dohop.com is a great site for finding the best way to travel to Iceland. I encourage anyone that can't find an Icelandair package for them to check it out.
Cost saving tip: Norden Voyager Card
Names on Badges: Like always, you will be able to write whatever on your pass. Some EVE players for very good reasons do not want their names on the badges. They might be trying to get some Alliance leader drunk and let a secret slip or whatever
Soaking in the Blue Lagoon for more than one hour is not suggested. It can be quite hot. Those that want to stay longer can simply take a later bus back to Reykjavik on their own or grab a Taxi and make a run for the airport. The reason for the tight window is that most of us will have a huge hangover from the Party at the Top of the World and need to wake up in time for the trip and a lot of people have to be at the airport in time for their afternoon flight back home the same day.
Information and registration for the CCP special trips (Golden Circle and Blue Lagoon) will be added to the Fanfest site as soon as possible.
Links to some good sites that give information about Iceland and Reykjavfk: grapevine.is - Your essential guide to life, travel and entertainment in Iceland InspiredbyIceland.com - Get Inspired by Iceland! There is even a video clip of CCP Hellmar explaining how he/CCP is inspired by Iceland. visiticeland - Your official guide to Iceland
I also suspect that EON might have a a lot of Fanfest information in their next issue. You do not want to miss that.
For special requests regarding the age limit and still wanting to go accompanied by a parent, please send them to [email protected] or any other questions you might have regarding anything.
Hope this helps! CCP Tyr

Are the Blue Lagoon and Golden Circle parts bookable separate from icelandair as looking at a different carrier so I can fly from Gatwick. Hoping the coach/bus element for the two above items are part of the events not the icelandair package as such so I could still get dropped off at the airport afterwards. ;)

CCP are working on another section of the FanFest website that will allow people to book the CCP specific Blue Lagoon and Golden Circle items (not sure if there will be other items). I do not know when this will be available.
This will allow us to book flights independently of any CCP specific program item.

If someone is looking to save some money, we saved about 200$ per person by booking everything separately vs using the packages that were offered.
For 2 people leaving from Boston and staying at the Hilton Reykjavik Nordica from the 23rd to the 27th, we paid per person: $500 economy flight + $190 twin double room at hotel + $75 Fanfest pass + $40 Flybus with return trip = $805 vs $1001 per person with the package.

Are you really sure those $190 are for all four nights? I can only see room rates for Hilton Nordica starting at 95$ per night for a double room... Either you've got hell of a special discount that I can't find anywhere (the 95$ per night are the "Any weekend anywhere" special offer with 50% discount already) or you mixed up the daily rate for the total rate and will come up with ~1375$...

A question about room booked through the Package Deal.
It gives options (when booking for 2 adults) for either "Twin Room" or "2 X Single room".
Does the "Twin Room" hold two twin beds and the "2 x Single Room" holds only one bed (is it a double or queen?)?

I take it you are looking at Iceland Express? I used them last FF but they like to change their timetable short notice. Getting a taxi at 5am to KEF airport wasn't fun. Or cheap.

Also a tip with Hotel Cabin;
In the package is offers the single / twin room. This isn't the deluxe room - which is like ú3 more or so. I don't see the deluxe being involved in the package deal. Best advice: SHOP AROUND

I would guess from the wording that "2x single room" means "1 room with 2 single beds", and "twin room" means "1 room with 1 double bed". Don't quote me on it though.

O.K Great thread but I have some very important questions that haven't been asked yet.
1) Who's picking me up at the airport? (I don't like to be kept waiting and they Better have a fast car to make that 40km trip fast!)
2) What forms of payment will be accepted for the sielent auction?
3) Do I need to rent a car or will staying at one of the close-by hotels get me to everything associated with fanfest? (with in walking distance?)
4) How expensive are DUI's in Iceland?
5) How's the bus system there? Does it run all night?
6) How much does a bottles of Jack or Crown cost in Iceland? Can I import them? Does anyone want to buy some?
7) No really how much do they cost and can we bring them into the country?
8) What time do Bar's open and close in Iceland? (ie) on average?
9) Can you put something in EVE with a koala bear on it so my wife will like the game and not nag me when I play too long? (If anybody from "down under" is coming can you bring my wife a koala?)
Thanks for the help! Waiting for the booze question to be answered :)

Originally by: Eelora 1) Who's picking me up at the airport? (I don't like to be kept waiting and they Better have a fast car to make that 40km trip fast!)
-Shuttle bus, usually bookable when booking the fanfest package or any other flight+hotel package with Icelandair. -Rent a car (sixt, budget, ...) There's no airport-pickup organized by CCP
Originally by: Eelora 3) Do I need to rent a car or will staying at one of the close-by hotels get me to everything associated with fanfest? (with in walking distance?) 4) How expensive are DUI's in Iceland?
3) Hilton Nordica, Park Inn, Cabin Hotel and maybe some other hotels are really close to the Fanfest location, so renting a car to get to fanfest is pretty pointless. The bars downtown are still withing "walkable" distance. (around 3-4km maybe from Fanfest location to city center) You can also use a taxi. Finding a parking space close to bars downtown is not always easy and I would say pretty much impossible on friday and satuday evenings and: 4) Drinking and driving is a bad idea in iceland.
Quote: Driving under the influence of alcohol is considered a serious offense in Iceland. The threshold blood alcohol test (BAT) level is very low. Drivers can be charged with DUI (Driving Under the Influence) with a BAT as low as .05%. Drivers stopped under suspicion of DUI are usually given a "balloon" or Breathalyzer test. If the test is positive, a blood test is routinely administered. Under Icelandic law, a blood test cannot be refused and will be administered by force if necessary. The minimum punishment for a first offense is a fine of 70,000 Icelandic Kronur (approximately 625 US Dollars) and the loss of driving privileges for two months.

Hi Eelora!
6) How much does a bottles of Jack or Crown cost in Iceland? Can I import them? Does anyone want to buy some?
This is taken from the Directorate of Customs:
Alcoholic beverages and tobaccos: In addition to goods referred to above, travelers can import duty-free alcoholic beverages and tobacco products as follows:
1 liter spirits and 1 liter wine or 3 liters wine or 1 liter spirits and 6 liters beer or 1,5 liter wine and 6 liters beer. Spirits comprise alcoholic beverages containing more than 21% alcohol; wines comprise alcoholic beverages, other than beer, containing 21% alcohol or less.
200 cigarettes or 250 g of other tobacco products The minimum age for bringing alcoholic beverages into Iceland is 20 years and 18 years for tobaccos.
So yes, you can import the stuff but only so little. You should bring as much as you can because it is expensive in Iceland. Alcohol is only available in The State Alcohol and Tobacco Company of Iceland aka Vfnb·=in. You can of course buy whatever at bars and such but then again at bar prices. There is no 7-11 with cold beers in the fridge.
A bottle of Jack from Vfnb·=in sets you back around 6300 ISK (54 USD / 40 EUR). A bottle of Jack at a bar.....Not recommended. A 0,5 liter beer at Vfnb·=in: 250 - 350 ISK A 0,5 liter beer at a bar: 600 - 900 ISK
8) What time do Bar's open and close in Iceland? (ie) on average?
They open early and close very late. Usually around 5 or 6 in the morning. Good times!
I hope this helps!
Look forward to seeing you all at Fanfest! CCP Tyr

(Copying some infos I posted on another thread, since they might be useful here)
I found and scanned the old schedules from 2008 and 2009. Maybe this will give you a better idea what's going on during Fanfest
Some random thoughts about the hotels:
Hilton Nordica: -More expensive, but pretty affordable, when you book early and get the 50% discount on room rates -Closest to Fanfest venue
Park Inn Hotel: -Medium priced -I stayed there in 2008 and 2009 and was happy with my choice -It seems most of the CSM also stayed at Park Inn Hotel. -They have paid WiFi internet BUT last year I found out that they had some special code for Fanfest-attendees for free internet. I had to ask for it tough and heard about it from some guy who heard from some guy... -Nice breakfast buffet with everything you can ask for: coffee, tea, milk, fruit juices, toastbread, some sweet bakery, bacon, scrambled eggs, slices of cheese and meat, vegetables and fruits, yogurt, cereals, ... And it was open till 10am. (not sure if it will be the same in March, since last two years Fanfest was in October) -Also pretty close to fanfest venue (just a bit further than Hilton Nordica) -Tons of parking spaces just across the road -There's a 24/7-shop really close where you can also get some microwaved pasta for example
Cabin Hotel: -Cheapest choice in Fanfest packages -From what I heard, the rooms are pretty small -As far as I remember, there's a Subway or some other kind of fastfood just across the road

Why does the rest of the world get hotel and airfare for under 1200 and we get it for 2000$ CCP?!
I was planning on coming if it hit under 1600. I'm not coming, this isn't worth my money sorry.

Come on man, come to fanfest. Just think of different options. You could always greyhound to one of the american departure points and fly from there. I am flying to seattle and then to iceland from that point and with hotel the trip is still around 1500 CAD. so add on some spending money and come on down!

Hi,
BIG problem over here. I purchased my ticket directly from iceland air website. They state that the fanfest is taking place from march 23 to march 27:
New York and Boston -Depart Mar 23, Return Mar 27
While on my plane tickets, it says:
03/21/2011 Boston Keflavik/O FI 630 9:30 PM - 6:30 AM 03/25/2011 Keflavik Boston/O FI 631 5:00 PM - 6:35 PM
Same flight number, but different dates?!
What the hell is this? Is this a bug or what? I'd like to have an answer, put my bus ticket on hold...
thanks in advance.

Sorry, I don't think anyone here can help you, all you can do is contact Icelandair. But you have already done that, right?
If your booking confirmation (not the ticket) says 23-27 then hopefully they'll sort it out for you since you've clearly done nothing wrong. Still, bad luck and I hope they'll manage to get you there on the correct dates...
Hm... Out of curiosity, does the booking reference (Amadeus code, 6 characters) also have the wrong dates? You can check it here for instance.
