Edited by: DEVLION JUSTICE on 30/11/2010 22:32:43 #1 we had Citizen Astur camped in a station for over 6 hours waiting on him to undock then he telports out of the station into a wyvern never undocking. #2 you did it in low sec there was over 150 pirates camping every gate to there waiting on people to join or take part in the event. #3 general players that would do the event dont get all together on coms to orginize good enough to beat back the pirates that are stopping them from ever being able to stop the actual event. i was around during the titan fail train where 400 people camps waiting on people actualy trying to go kill the titan in which it live was never killed and people lost billions of isk to try and attempt to take part in ccp's operation as long as you do not do in it an area or protect the people trying to do the actual story then it always going to fails cause 80% of eve players look at it and go whoot whoot cheap kills. i know im one of them this game is about pvp not pve a lot of people think its about pve but its not the bottom line is you play this game to kills players you pve to get isk to kill player or you sell items or make ships that kill .

Also, try to make a readable post next time, rather than a rediculous wall of text.
Also, please tell me how the fact that he didn't undock his wyvern into your camp (which he can't do anyway) means that events won't work?

Well, he does have a single, minor point: having a PvE event in a PvP zone in EvE is really boneheaded, and only idiots will try to do the event, as they're more likely to be killed by their fellow players then by the Npcs.
CCP, please do not try to ape other MMOs. This sort of thing works in games like WAR and WoW because death is essentially meaningless there. So they can have PvE events in PvP zones and all will have good fun. In EvE, the carebears with brain one will opt out, while PvP players will ignore it in favor of jumping anyone that tries to join. It's easy to rack up kills when you're focus firing on the same target as an npc titan.

Edited by: MarcusFenix2 on 01/12/2010 16:44:44 CCP is trying to add factors to the game, more of an experiment really. Why wouldnt they? If something doesn't happen they may add external factors such as decrease in planetary production or more frequent attacks in lowsec and highsec if noone responds. Alliances will likely respond to attacks in their own territory.Or roam around and bring in massive capital ship fleets to bring down the stuff that will get them tasty killmail. I quite like having a few carrier kills that dont involve hundreds of ships and epic lag. Dronelands anyone?

Eve is one big PVP zone, even in stations you can PVP via the market.
