I am a noob player with arround 6 mln SP [ which is concidered beeing a noob] and i must tell you the updates for eve kinda disappoint me.
I've been here when Tyrannis came out . .when the PI was added and now when the Incursion was added [ with a lot of breaks of course] and i must tell that the only significant change i used and was glad of is PI system that helps newbies like me get few mil ISK relativly "free".
Then lets see what is the most significant change for new players and these less new [<10kk SP] In Incursion . . . .
-THE LOGIN SCREEN ! -.
The only change that newbie players like me see is the freaking different colour of the login screen !. Of course there is a new salvage ship which I can say is Cool but only if you do have 100kk ISK to spend for it and if you do make some lvl4 missions . . . .and most of newbies doesnt have that amount of money [you can buy BS for that] or don't do lvl 4 missions [salvaging with that 100kk isk ship on lvl1-3 missions is like killing mosquitos with a small tactical nuke u have to pay for!.
So iam writing this little petition to CCP and members of this forum so we could together gather life-changing ideas for newbie-like players [ and post them in this forum]. The first significant change for noobs that they will actually SEE and experience them self is by CCP and it is . . . <claps> <claps>
1st. No learning skills. . . . . growth rate of players will be a little but more equal and whats most important . . .newbies will skill up faster.
2nd. Adding Mentor <-> Student relationship whith bonuses to sp for student, and bonuses for % standing gain for mentor. (following with some simple,resonable rules like student has to be below 15kk sp, etc )
Post your ideas plz :) Maybe ccp will listen. Please only "newbie-centered" ideas here.

I dont think the Noctis was meant for noobs to jump into. And then price is down to 60 mill already and still dropping.
And even if noobs would get into a Noctis I doubt they would be salvaging their own missions.
Id do something like this
join a mission running corp
Get a destroyer
Salvage
get a noctis
salvage more efficiently as I train for a cruiser
use cruiser on some missions and get a feel for the ship
salvage to save isk
buy a battlecruiser and run my own lvl 3 missions
Thats a very realistic plan if you ask me.

Dear Boinz, I am talking about update changes. From a newbie point of view Incursion can not be called an update . . .rather " login screen change".
I did speak about the matter of Noctis because it is a ship and it is somewhat playable by newbies and it is a "difference" to the game they can somewhat feel.
I dont have anything against your " progression" plan you posted but please dudes post some real >changes< that will not >break the game< so they >could be added in future updates< and are strongly ralated to >newbie players<

I don't believe it.
On one hand we have bitter vets *****ing because there's nothing in the updates for them.
On the other we have bitter noobs *****ing about the same thing.
Let me spell this out for you.
THE GAME DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND ANY ONE GROUP OF PLAYERS, DESPITE ALL THE CLAIMS TO THE CONTRARY.
Some expansions will not have any direct benefit to a specific group - get over it and your self-centered arrogance, and be happy that, unlike some other games, we don't have to pay $50 an expansion.

So many other changes that affect newbies in this patch.
I suggest you re-read the patch notes! (plus this is just one of the 3 updates that make up Incursion)
Just because you cant afford a Noctis today, does not mean you wont be able to tomorrow!
Your mentor/student idea would be exploited. If someone was missioning then they could have a second account with a non skilling (low skill point) alt simply follow them around to generate bonuses.

Oh great. . . . so now i have to read the detailed patch notes to see hat has been changed ? I shall inform you that Yes i 've read them . . .. and i shall tell you again. . .if there wasnt any patchnotes to this i wouldnt be able to tell you the difference. This is not how "game expansion" should look like.
Well there is alaways a case of "exploiting" dual accounts. I saw a guy with 2 accounts flying orca and hulk and as you can probably tell it will give him a lot of mining bonus and a lot of "free" cargo space he doesnt have to be worried about [ because its his]. Its also kind of " exploiting". But there will be a lot of " NORMAL" people who cant afford dual accounts using this feature.

I am presuming that you mean 'Paid', but sitill wondering why you are comparing Piad updates in other games to a FREE update in Eve.
