Hi i use the latest wine 1.3.8 and got some trouble with the game eve online. After some (random?) time eve stops/hangs for some seconds if my ship starts to warp or some other player warps.
System: Debien testing/squeez ATI 4850, fglrx 10.11
Sometimes it take hours befor the problem apears, sometime only some minutes. The output from a normal warp: pastebin.com and from a buggy warp: pastebin.com "Datei nicht gefunden" means "file not found"
Switching to nvidia is not an options.

This will sound like a windows solution but have you tried to reinstall Eve? From the logs it looks more like it's Eve having problem than wine.

not yet, i will try it later today.
Also, if i warp in a fleet i get ~5 excetion at once and eve hangs for over 30 seconds. So if there are more ships in the system/grid everthing goes fubar.

Reinstalling with a different Wine prefix did not help. Orbeting around a red target (Pvp, not pve!) makes it lag totaly. I can see a new frame every 5 seconds. When switching to the System/Map overview (F10?) everything works flawless.
Maybe it is the damn fglrx/ati driver. But it works for other players ... so i dont know what to do now.

Here's on the Debian wiki
You need to have fglrx-control and fglrx-driver (I missed that one first time myself). Then you need to uninstall the ati driver and install it again.

I got fglrx-amdcccle installed, thats the successor from fglrx-control in newer versions of the driver. The fglrx driver is also loaded and works. I also tried different wine versions (1.2 and 1.3.X) and different versions of the fglrx driver. UT2004 and UrbanTerror are working finde, but those are native linux games.
I hate to restart and boot windows only to play eve

Edited by: Scorpyn on 12/12/2010 02:13:01 Seems similar to this issue.
Or at least warping seems to be one of the things that sometimes trigger it for me.
Try to disable sound, see if that helps.
